Ron DeSantis is seeking an 'off-ramp' from his 2024 campaign, according to reports, following a disappointing performance in Iowa - buoyed by the promise from Trump supporters to back him in 2028.

Speaking on Tuesday in South Carolina, DeSantis said that Trump voters in Iowa had told him they would support him in four years.

'They were coming up to me saying, "We want you in 2028, we love you, man," he said.

He told a similar story on NBC News.

Andrew Romeo, the DeSantis campaign's communications director, said DeSantis was in the race 'for the long haul,' through South Carolina and beyond.

We have a fairly good idea on the numbers on that based on “what if” polling questions in a few states. It looks like DeSantis voters will split 50-50 between President Trump and Nikita if DeSantis is out of the race.

Thanks. So then the margin would have been the same.

“says Trump supporters have promised to vote for him in the next election as he begins to build “off-ramp” from 2024 campaign”

He’s already PROVEN to us that he has NO CLUE regarding who Trump voters are and what they think. No need to even prove it more.

A lot can happen in 4 years.

If decanctus comes out of the closet, and goes transgender.

If dahsantis’s drug problem causes pychicatric problems and causes him to be committed

if desantis is found to be a bug in a skin suit, and he starts killing everyone..
.....

sure, lots of things can happen in 4 years....

My view is the J6 political prisoner issue will be a big deal no matter what else happens in the next few years.

These are real people with real narratives—and they could be driving Republican politics for decades to come—no matter who the candidates are.

The J6 issue is not about Donald Trump—it is about .gov terrorizing its citizens with Deep State entrapment and persecution—just like they do in third world dictatorships.

DeSantis is like an understudy at the Metropolitan Opera - his only chance is if the star is stricken.

Ron DeSantis is still the real deal. You folks are wrong. Look at how he turned Florida solid red after barely beating that queer drug addict. Look a how he took Disney to the woodshed knowing they pay a lot in taxes.

Then look at his 20% reelection victory. When you look at possible Trump VP selections there is no crown prince or princess amongst them who could be set up for ‘28. Since DeSantis will not be one of them 2 full governor terms will have to do it. Senators and flash-in-the-pan celebrities don’t work. The only thing that will hold him back is the fact that he is as exciting as Michael Dukakis. By then we may only need a technocrat as opposed to a messiah.

If Trump wins in '24, Gavin Newsom becomes President in '28.

If Trump wins, its probably 50/50 between Gavin Newsom and Ron DeSantis (depends on the fraud and how many illegals can vote by then).

*he should have been looking at 2028 from the start.*

Reagan did just that after he got reelected in ‘70.

“J6 political prisoner issue”

The J6 people showed that there wasn’t a single Republican in Congress willing to meet with ordinary people to discuss election fraud.

Republicans in Congress didn’t like being shown to be craven cowards.

“”So then, is DeSantis going to endorse President Trump?””

That question was asked of him this morning on FOX cable...I was out of the room but trying to listen and he didn’t address the question at all - went on and on without answering it. I don’t know who did the interview with him..

If I’d been inclined to support him, I would have changed my mind at that point - can’t answer a simple question? Well, maybe not so simple for a presidential candidate but he should have still been aware that he was dodging the question.

Save your breath.

We had a once in a generation opportunity to rally behind an actual conservative with a long list of victories under his belt but the majority of GOP primary voters instead belittled him as "meatball" and decided to throw their lot behind a bloviating geriatric circus clown.

We deserve every defeat that awaits us.

Leaders have to lead.

If they fail to do so they need only look in the mirror to find out why their campaign was a joke.

Ok, here is the off ramp. Quit today, endorse Trump and hit the road once in a while to campaign for Trump.

See post 7.

DeSantis owns this.

He could have changed the narrative.

He could have been a great leader.

He failed.

There is noone else to blame.
