Is the Electoral Fix Already In?
Racket News ^ | 1/26/24 | Matt Taibbi

The fix is in. To “protect democracy,” democracy is already being canceled. We just haven’t admitted the implications of this to ourselves yet.

On Sunday, January 14th, NBC News ran an eye-catching story: “Fears grow that Trump will use the military in ‘dictatorial ways’ if he returns to the White House.” It described “a loose-knit network of public interest groups and lawmakers” that is “quietly” making plans to “foil any efforts to expand presidential power” on the part of Donald Trump.

The piece quoted an array of former high-ranking officials, all insisting Trump will misuse the Department of Defense to execute civilian political aims. Since Joe Biden’s team “leaked” a strategy memo in late December listing “Trump is an existential threat to democracy” as Campaign 2024’s central talking point, surrogates have worked overtime to insert existential or democracy in quotes. This was no different:

“We’re about 30 seconds away from the Armageddon clock when it comes to democracy,” said Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, adding that Trump is “a clear and present danger to our democracy.” Skye Perryman of Democracy Forward, one of the advocacy groups organizing the “loose” coalition, said, “We believe this is an existential moment for American democracy.” Declared former CIA and defense chief Leon Panetta: “Like any good dictator, he’s going to try to use the military to basically perform his will.”

Former Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the U.S. Department of Justice and current visiting Georgetown law professor Mary McCord was one of the few coalition participants quoted by name. She said:

We’re already starting to put together a team to think through the most damaging types of things that he [Trump] might do so that we’re ready to bring lawsuits if we have to.

Maybe we can call them Confederacy II?

Seems that actual rebellion and insurrection are afoot, again, by the same folks as last time.

Dems never change

Taibbi article is must reading. The steps the left is taking isn’t just anti-tyrannical actions against a possible Trump administration they actually apply to the current regime. The transference is a constant with libs. I’m not sure they’ve come up with an original attack that wasn’t taken from their own corrupt schemes.

Plus the panic that’s causing them prepare like this tells me they think biden is so bad that their election fraud machine might not be able to overcome his historic negatives against a popular candidate like Trump.

The constitution does not ensure a Democracy, it ensures a Constitutional Republic.

The Democrats want to the 1792 Insurrection Act, that gives the President powers, defined.

Problem is the Democrats already defined it. Anything Protest, even if they do it within the legal regulated protest boundries, is an Insurrection if it is so deemed. That is now the definition, please see the Colorado Supreme Court and multiple Democrats/mass media opinion that Trump was guilty of masterminding an Insurrection. Without TRIAL or CHARGES, they Convicted and used the 14th Amendment.

Let Trump use that EXACT standard if he returns to office. No more double legal standards.

One as sharp as K T McFarland said the specter of haley hanging on is part of the plan to so hamstring Trump that he becomes unable to campaign, and haley steps into the void. Democrat and GOPe money are fueling the scam.

America is NOT a “Democracy” with centralized power and oppressive government tyranny.

America is a REPUBLIC with DECENTRALIZED POWER and INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM!!!

if she steps into the void she will have a difficult time getting electoral vote in the general. Can she win without any electoral votes from the southern states?

We are still filled with Commies, pinkos, marxists, socialists, RINO’s and scumbags throughout our government. Unelected and elected. All of them, almost to a man, are scum.
So yes, the fix is in. They better make the steal look better this time, or there will be hell to pay.

"The article implied a future Trump presidency will necessitate new forms of external control over the military. It cited Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal’s bill to “clarify” the Insurrection Act, a 1792 law that empowers the president to deploy the military to quell domestic rebellion. Blumenthal’s act would add a requirement that Congress or courts ratify presidential decisions to deploy the military at home, seeking essentially to attach a congressional breathalyzer to the presidential steering wheel."

(snip)

"She then quoted Brooks. The Georgetown professor, who in her most recent book about life in the Defense Department described getting “a coveted intelligence community ‘blue badge’” to pass into “the sacred precincts of the CIA,” told Goldberg that in the event of a Trump power grab, “the only thing left is what pro-democracy movements and human rights movements around the world have always done, which is sustained, mass peaceful demonstrations.”

That did sound like a description of the Eastern European color revolutions, which generally involved mass street actions, sustained negative press pressure, and calls by NGOs and outside countries for the disfavored leader to step down. A major reason the “color revolution” theme struck commentators in connection with TIP had to do with the presence in the TIP simulation of Barack Obama’s former chief ethics lawyer, Norm Eisen. Eisen wrote a manual called The Democracy Playbook for the Brookings Institution that is often referred to as the unofficial how-to guide for America-backed regime-change operations abroad."

Given the two elements, it sure sounds like sedition planning is in the works if Trump becomes president. I mentioned during the riots of 2020 that they should have "followed the money" to find out who the organizers were. They'll try it again.

Pretty bizarre in that Trump avoided war completely and Biden has us sending billions to Ukraine for a useless war, the Middle East is hot again and now he’s created a situation where we could have an actual civil war.

Shows how corrupt the Beltway GOPe are that despite all that, they oppose Trump as much as the RATS.

I always said if you gave me control of the mass media for two decades I could convince a generation of young people that they were Unicorns—and anyone who tried to argue the point was a “hater” and a “right wing extremist” and “bitter clinger”.

“”We’re already starting to put together a team to think through the most damaging types of things that he [Trump] might do so that we’re ready to bring lawsuits if we have to.””

My goodness! Are those people for real? This is like a parent planning punishment for a child for something he MIGHT have done while mom and dad were out of the house!

Nothing like a little - really a lot of - projection going on!! They can’t point to a single incident of anything Trump DID as PRESIDENT that would fit their scare tactics. I won’t even ask WHY NOW? The answers are simple to our questions - because they are scared to death of another Trump presidency..Too many skeletons in the closet that will fall out when the door is opened in January 2025! “Be afraid - be very afraid!”
