Anytime I hear the phrase "our democracy" I know the person using it is a democrat.

There’s no drama with this. The Colorado Supreme Court is entirely Democrat-appointed, all seven are Democrats. Yet they could only muster a 4-3 decision. No way a more balanced or right-leaning court goes along with it.

I would ask Mods to pull this.

This Shill article is just flat-out dumb agitprop hubris, by a smoke-blowing pole-smoking Libtard neckbeard who reeks of down-low catfish loserdom...

"This leaves a variety of issues for the current justices to consider, as well as opportunities to avoid a politically volatile ruling on technical or procedural grounds. Instead, they should rule definitively to clarify the clause because Trump has created a political precedent in which we may see future attempts to overthrow the Constitution."

"What are some of the key questions before the court?"

1. "Does the clause apply to presidents?" No.

2. "Was the riot on January 6, 2021, an insurrection?" No.

3. "Did Trump participate?" Maybe he should have. If he had, maybe I wouldn't have to spend my valuable time responding to this fatuous, insufferable blog post.

4. "Shouldn’t it be up to voters whether Trump can be president again? The 14th Amendment states a qualification to serve as president, like the Constitution’s other requirements that a president must be a natural-born citizen of the U.S. and at least 35 years old. The Constitution’s qualifications are not subject to voter discretion." Exactly. So when Alito crams 14A so far down your gullet, don't complain when the political post-mortem endoscope shows what you had for breakfast -- a bowl full of marxist d---s.

the end for our democracy“

If the Co. SC had tossed a rat off the ballot the US SC would have overturned it 2 hours after the fact.

“Having 9 dictators ruling the country is no better than just one.”

Incorrect. While totally abhorrent and unacceptable, just the inefficiencies and copmplications even though only minimally effective are improvement on Stalin/Mao/Pol/Osama/.. murderous regimes.

Well I think putting Ketsup on a hot dog is a high crime. Pineapple on a pizza will get you locked up for treason.

I know that was /sarc,

I see your point, but do you think that would stand if a state disqualified a candidate for race?
(ever heard expression ‘snowballs chance’?)

What if SCOTUS decides that this is a state’s rights/prerogatives issue concerning elections and hands it right back to the states?

Every Democrat-run swing state drops Trump from the ballot and that's the end of our Constitutional Republic.

It's probably over as it is. Election Day will begin with multiple American cities on fire. It will end several weeks later with a full half of the population absolutely refusing to accept the outcome of the election, --no matter who wins.

When liberals say “our democracy,” they mean for them, not for you.

And yet, for some reason, Trump didn’t end “our democracy” when he was President for four years. And for some reason, our rights and freedoms are under direct assault from the Xiden administration.

Trump was the worst dictator ever. No firing squads. No mass arrests. Nobody marched off to the labor camps. The only people censored in the press were Trump supporters. The only people deplatformed or fired from their jobs were Trump supporters.

Does anyone think Hitler would've tolerated a giant diaper-wearing baby balloon? Hell no! People would've swung from lamp posts!

If Trump is thrown off the ballot, politicians will start to be thrown off the ballot left and right everywhere.

The same part of the constitution that is being discussed disqualifies anyone who provides aid and comfort to our enemies..

like giving Iran money
or refusing to stop illegal aliens from crossing the border
supporting BLM
supporting hamas
etc etc etc

I could throw nearly every Democrat off the ballot by that measure!

Save democracy by eliminating all candidates except one.

Oh lookee, it’s “our democracy” time again.

“Our democracy” = “their democracy” = “you shut the hell up and obey”

But I’ll play. Roberts rules that Trump can be DQ’d based upon a crime for which he was never convicted or even charged with.

So then, when Biden is DQ’d from the ballot because he committed an act of insurrection by failing to secure our border, will that also be saving democracy?

Just wondering for a friend.

How many “beginnings” to the “end” of democracy can we have?

Trump is also the worst racist ever, getting an Ellis Island award with Muhammad Ali and Rosa Parks.

According to its website, the Ellis Island Honors Society “honors the importance of immigration to America’s prosperity and celebrates the contributions immigrants and their progeny have made to our nation” (www.eihonors.org/).
