This is a great thing for several reasons:
1) It means his delusion of running for president is over
2) He has a decent chance of winning
3) He is significantly more conservative than whatever Democrat he will be running against

I can't stand the prick, but you're right.

Yeah, no negatives with this. He’ll be whipped to vote in line like every other GOP member.

He will be the mainstream media’s favorite and when he votes with the dems or criticizes Trump in his second term will say it is bi-partisan and the republicans are out of touch. Lackey.

I absolutely agree. It’s nice to see someone here who can count to 51 - the number of seats we need to control the Senate and either get conservative judges appointed or defeat liberal ones.

I hope he wins.

Not so sure. Susan Collins is conservative compared to this guy...and he would be appearing as the darling of the press attacking his own party at every turn. Collins at least isn't that divisive even though she does not philosophically align with conservatives.

As a MD resident I agree with (1) but (2) and (3) are devoid of reality. MD Dems will cast Hogan as a Trump surrogate (funny, right?) and push for a local black politician as the only logical choice. Not to mention that the liquor store magnate (Trone) money may be a factor on the Dem side, but he’s an older white dude so no chance.
