KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (AP) — It seems former President George H.W. Bush felt the need for speed in the waters off Maine, where he kept a nearly 1,000 horsepower speedboat. And for the right price, someone else can experience its excitement. The vessel is set to go up for auction on Thursday during the 2024 Presidential Salute auction in Houston, said Hutton Higgins, a spokesperson for the George & Barbara Bush Foundation. Proceeds from selling the 38-foot (11.5-meter) speedboat “Fidelity V” will be used to expand offerings at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum and The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

That is an off shore fishing boat. That is not a speed boat,
but it will go like hell.
75mph on water is insane.
Yep, speedboats will go faster.
There’s no room to stow 100 kilos of coke on a speedboat.
It’s for catching flying fish..................
I’m sure the CIA special equipment and mods have been removed.
It is a boat with speed but not a speed boat. What is the model year and how much to fix it up? Someone will buy it but not me.
how many gallons per mile does it get ?
I worked on a 38’ albacore boat out of San Pedro. Sure seemed a lot bigger than the boat in the picture. (Didn’t go 75 mph!)
169 gallons per hour at full throttle.
and I thought my Hellcat was thirsty..
I thought he had a Scarab Speed boat.
He probably had two boats.
I met him in Kenneybunkport the summer after he lost to Clinton. His boat was on a slip next to my father in laws sailboat. He came down with his SS detail. Stopped and said hello to us.
The boat that was more impressive was the hard bottomed gray/black Zodiac that the Secret Service owned. It was probably a 24’-26’ center console with two 100 HP outboards on the back. There were three SS officers including a guy with a wet suit on holding a sub machine gun.
Especially if you hit a wave just right.
Go, like where its owner went to.
A boat is a hole in the water that the owner throws his money into.
The two best days of a boat owners life, the day he buys it, and the day he sells it.
“where its owner went to”
Hell or Gitmo ?
both ?
Sporting 3- 300 HP engines.
