“In general women are too equivocal to be relied upon for a powerful office. Too many examples, but Haley herself is a good one.”

Totally agree. And not only they can’t be relied as leader, but also at PICKING leaders. Far too easily swayed by emotions - it’s in their nature. The 19th amendment wasn’t such a good idea.

The Margaret Thatchers are few and far between.

Correct—if you drill deeper on the many articles about Haley supporters there is a lot of interesting data.

These are estimates but in the ball park:

Group 1: A third of her supporters are Democrats or Democratic leaning Independents who are just TDS victims trying to sabotage Donald Trump any way they can. They will vote for the Democratic nominee in November.

Group 2: Another third are squishy moderate type Independents who don’t like President Trump or Biden and hoped that Nikki could be the third way. They don’t know what they are going to do in November—some will vote Republican, some will vote Democrat, some will vote Third Party, some will stay home.

Group 3: Another third are the true Quisling wing of the Republican Party—the Liz Cheney types. These are almost all women. Their voting pattern in November will be similar to Group 2.

What the pearl clutchers and concern trolls among us need to remember is that the Democratic Party has its own issues with folks who are questioning their nominee.

A solid 10% of the electorate are bomb throwing leftists who are angry that Biden has not invaded Israel yet. They could easily vote third party or stay home.

This upcoming election will be volatile—I would not assume anything about anything.

I’ve assumed it was what I call the “inverse Kari Lake”. There were folks willing to pay her to NOT be in the race, I’d bet there are people willing to pay Nikki to STAY in the race. “Is there a number that could make you stay in the race?”

I like the thinking about why she stays in the race.

That said: Haley is a politician. Somewhere in them they have some principles, but pressure always gets them to wobble an swerve.

Trump doesn’t do that as much. Haley is obviously wobbling and swerving now.

I’m actually kind of impressed by her toughness. She has stayed in the race, she plays the game for her money guys, she toes the line as carefully as she can to stay a Republican while a lot of Republicans are fussing at her.

Haley isn’t my choice, but a tough Nikki Haley would be a lot better than any Democrat.

Not mentioned in the article:

1) As long as she stays in, Trump is not the “presumptive nominee” and cannot access General Campaign funds from the party

2) As long as Trump is not the “Presumptive Nominee” he cannot receive briefings from the White House, which will handicap him once he has to start addressing all the messes the “Biden” cabal has been creating around the world.

I got it down not. The next time I get stopped for speeding, I know what to say.

Officer: Mr. Odwag, you were going 55 in a 50 mph zone.

Me: Look, that may be true, but look at that first 50 I complied with. That is a lot.

First you would need to get elected governor of some province. That will not be easy if you can’t speak fluent Hindi.

The Nikki version of the traffic stop:

Cop: “You were going 55 in a 50 mph zone.”

Nikki: “Look what is important was that I was on an important errand to the hardware store.”

Cop: “Here is a ticket. That will cost you $100.”

Nikki: “Can you send the bill to the Koch family please. They can afford it.”

Lol.

She is staying in to run as a 3rd Party Candidate. Kellye Anne Conway’s ex’s (Lincoln Project) Party , or Joe Lieberman’s new Party (No Label’s), but in effect, she is the Deep State, Inside The Beltway Party (Bush Wing), who really have no allegiance to Party, but only to Social Standing and Power. They are funding her, not Republicans, IMHO.

Nikki has a better chance to be the leader of North Korea than the Republican nominee for anything—ever.

She has burned all her bridges.

That is not GOPe thinking. I heard it from Ryan the other day. How he longs for a time when the party “returns to principle and ends this infatuation with populism”.

They truly believe Trump’s populism will die with him. Then the Republican voters will forget disgust with the Swamp and re-embrace all things elite.

She is the multi-million-dollar Lap Dancer for the Krotch Brothers.

Their investments will wither under Trump's deportation plans.

That's it. That's all there is to this.

The Kochs believe that—and put up millions of dollars.

The mass of voters are like a large battleship.

They turn slowly and once they get momentum in a certain direction it is very hard to turn them around.

Donald Trump—the person and the issues he represents—will be Republican issues for at least a generation.

Even the leftist scholars who hate President Trump get that.

He is a historic figure—like Abraham Lincoln, FDR—towers above everybody else.

“It is our sense of fair play and kindness and tolerance that is hurting us badly.”

************

True, but also our passivity and a lack of any desire for self-preservation. We don’t stand up for ourselves.

A strange sense of guilt seems to be at the bottom of it all.

“Time for her to take a position at one of the liberal media outlets.”

**********

Its pretty clear that her shift to the dark side is a fait accompli. Her direction is toward a new role/future for herself amongst the Left. There’s no coming back from where she is now.

Exactly.

For her to say that she is more electable than Trump now is just plain absurd and completely ridiculous—given the fact that she has permanently alienated and totally pissed off the majority of the Republican base.

They will either stay home or vote/write-in Trump or someone else.

At this point, she is either totally clueless—or blatantly going third party or switching parties. Either way, her stubbornness and hateful moves are disgusting!

I wouldn’t be surprised if her Uniparty funders pull the plug right about now.

A 47-3 delegate split in her home state is about as bad as it gets.

As for her claim that she’s in it for the duration - candidates all say that.

The decision whether or when to drop out is not up to her - she’ll get a couple phone calls and that will be that.
