Very interesting. And very suspicious. Thanks for filling me in with the details. Assuming that she was assassinated, which is looking more and more likely, then the questions become, who did it and what was the motive? The attention to detail and symbolism (with her dying on Chinese New Year) would seem to suggest the culprits were Chinese. But their motive? Your guess is as good as mine. And while a credible case could be made for the CCP being the culprits, it’s also conceivable that this was the work of Chinese dissidents in this country disrupting some sort of CCP operation, or sending the CCP some sort of message.

Hopefully we’ll learn more.

"(He also is a minority owner of the Boston Celtics and the completely unconfirmed scuttlebutt was that Ime Udoka got fired not only for boinking the wife of one of their finance guys, but also for messing with Chao.)"

Watched Udoka courtside in '07 on his first tour with the Spurs, the year after the Spurs had just accomplished one of the most underrated NBA championship seasons. He was one of Pop's Pets, just slow dumb meat to stand under the rim and block out. Clearly he saved his mojo for other jams...

His coaching isn’t looking so special either—noe that he doesn’t have the Celtics roster.

Itโ€™s always possible that this was just a tragic accident and nothing more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I initially wasn’t of that view but with some assumptions, I can kind of see it. We don’t know which model of Tesla she had but some are sold as a rear wheel drive and some as an all wheel drive (drive motor for the front and one for the back). None of them are front wheel drive as far as I know. She might have backed into the water and it was deep enough that the back end floated and so the wheels were not in contact with the bottom so she would have been stuck there.... and then perhaps the whole car started to float away further and further from shore to where the water was deeper. As others have pointed out, she likely couldn’t open the doors due to water pressure and perhaps the window motors failed fairly quickly due to the water coming in. Did the car have a sunroof? Did that work or not or was she just in panic mode and didn’t think about it?
Then there is the statement by Kyle Bass on X who said that “There is a surveillance video of Chao going into reverse, aggressively backing over a significant obstacle”
https://twitter.com/Jkylebass/status/1760654628658520564
And in this statement, he says the car was ‘launched’... https://twitter.com/Jkylebass/status/1760654923992072561 Kyle Bass seems to be regarded as reliable so his description suggests a car that is either a) out of control for some reason or b) a high degree of intentionality.
One assumes that somebody called into emergency and so somebody saw this happen.... or did she call into emergency herself when she realized she couldn’t open either the doors or the windows?
In the picture RummyChick posted in 33, you can see the road right beside the dam. If she was leaving and was texting and was going out the driveway toward Schneider Lane, I suppose it possible that she somehow she missed the turn right before the dam ended up in the water. Was she having a vax-induced heart attack or some other type of medical emergency?
However, if the car really was backed into a pond, that certainly sheds a whole different light on things.......and if nothing else, folks who text and drive don’t at least typically do it when in reverse.
At the risk of spoiling all the fun speculation that this was some kind of a hit-I live in rural Texas-hill country, 45 miles of so from SA. There were and still are a few big properties that are owned by super-rich folks who are not Texans, have never lived anywhere outside of a gated community or a condo-and have never even ranched parakeets, much less real livestock. The “ranches” they own are a combination of ag exemption tax write-off and weekend party/getaway place.
When the owners go there to play, they even bring their own servants most of the time, and they certainly don’t interact with any of the smelly, Walmart-shopping locals, other than the few that are hired to go over and feed any livestock, etc. They also have about as much business trying to herd a street vehicle over uneven terrain, or around a “pond”-aka stock tank-as I would have flying a plane. I can certainly see how that woman drove around, decided to turn around and go elsewhere, slid down the embankment of the tank/pond and could not get out of the car because of the “safety” features-for all we know, she might have had an adult beverage or two as well to add to the lack of common sense.
I doubt that any of the weekend people had any idea that it takes longer out here for EMS, etc to get to a location when called-usually about 30 minutes-rural emergency service people-who are some of those deplorable local folks-are not terribly fond of the fancy weekend people, but I’m sure they did the best they could-they always do. As for any of the weekenders starting up a tractor, etc-if one were even available, how many rich city dwellers know how to operate a tractor, much less rig a winch, rope/cable etc to pull/haul something out of ditch, much less a pond deep enough to eat a car? Unless there is info that foul play was involved, I’ll guess that it was a tragic accident-play stupid games, win stupid prizes-just my dos centavos...
"And these Chinese communist publications in China, in Chinese for China readers, reported a very detailed story that she was driving to Austin for a meeting when a truck driven by a drunk driver smashed in to her. The article reported that this driver was arrested at the science [sic] for drunk driving by Texas law enforcement. See here. It is all total rubbish... [bullshit link]"
Put the cap back on the bottle, ifibberagain. The mere suggestion that the Austin libtard MSM would cover up a t-bone in Austin, with a Miotch-in-law inside is laughable Freeptardism.
Yeah, they trailer-towed the car, with her dead inside, the 42 miles from Austin to Blanco, and then dropped it in the pond. Seriously, STFU.
Good points. Thanks for the info. I’d be interested in knowing how common this sort of thing is and in particular how common it is with Teslas. BTW, do we know if her windows were open when the car went in?
IIRC, they actually are Chinese, but the MSM does their best to misdirect (lie) to give them some cover. Taiwan was just a stop along the way.
I think you have brain damage.
Try to read and pay attention.
She somehow drove backwards over obstacles in to a pond at their ranch in Johnson City.
The Chicom media made up the story of the drunk driver killing her on the Highway.
There is zero speculation of that.
Why are you saying this?
The image you posted, what was that from.
Itโ€™s an example in English of the fake report disseminated by Chicom media.
Iโ€™m curious, are you claiming this is what happened? That she was killed by a drunk driver?
None of those details have been reported on... and in fact as mentioned above, the car has now been reportedly given back to the Chao and McConnell family.
If the car really was out of control (and it wasn’t a case of it being hacked) and if the reason for all the suppression of details is because of some guvmint agenda pushing EVs, I would hope some people are going to get strung up by the you-know-whats when this all starts to come out... especially if there is another similar case.
Just as an aside, I have a severe case of distrust of all these vehicles (EV and ICE) that have tons of electronics that think it knows more about decisions than a human driver might.
“She had plenty of time to react before she hit the water”
Unless there was a bullet in her head. Or two. Aren’t there usually two with a professional hit?
That happened to an elderly man stuck in a Rambler. His car was not too far from mine. I made it out of the water and watched as it kept rising, waiting for this man to exit his vehicle.
He didn’t get out.
I went back into the water (which was chest high on me at this point). The water was black and smelled like gasoline. I couldn’t see my shirt more than two inches under the water.
When I got to him, he was paralyzed. His hands were gripping the top of the steering wheel and books were floating by his face.
That told me the water pressure inside was equal to the outside. I fumbled around until I found the door latch and got him out. Poor man was in distress.
I used to think my father was intentionally trying to scare us as kids when he would talk about how to survive in various emergency situations. As I got older, I realized he was doing his best to ensure our survival by providing instructions on how to respond.
It served me well over the course of my life. When disaster started to strike, I knew what was happening and was able to escape it intact. For people with no emergency preparedness training, they either freeze or panic.
True.
It could also be that she didnt want to open a window because she didnt want to be flung out of the car . Perhaps disoriented. Perhaps Drunk. Perhaps in a Panic. It may be that she didnt know she was about to hit the water.
The reporter who went into the water in the link I provided had air but she was still frightened. Floated to the top of the car. I am using this whole thing to tell me what the heck to do if I am ever in that situation.
I have seen people die from those retention ponds in subdivisions so everyone should have a plan.
