Last holdout Hungary approves Sweden's NATO bid

Hungary's parliament on Monday ratified Sweden's bid to join NATO, clearing the final obstacle for an enlargement of the military alliance spurred by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Turkey and Hungary were holdouts. Sweden addressed concerns of each of these countries not necessarily connected to Sweden joining NATO. This is what democratic countries do. They work out their differences in order to act on their common interests.

All Sweden had to do was pretend it was neutral with Putin, like it did with Hitler in WWII.

Spare us oh mighty Putin! Conqueror of South Ossetia and Abkazia.

Restoring to Russia that which Catherine the Great bequethed her.

And that which Lenin and Stalin restored.

For surely the fall of the Soviet Union was the greatest tragedy of the 20th Century.

And Russia remains the second greatest military power in Ukraine.
