TIRANA, Albania (AP) – Ukraine´s president pleaded Wednesday for more ammunition to repel Russian advances as he co-hosted a summit with Albania’s government to build further support for Kyiv among southeastern European countries while signs of war fatigue grow.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that increasing the supply of armaments, and especially ammunition, was paramount for Ukraine just over two years since Russia´s full-scale invasion. “I think this is the question of: Will we stand or not,” he said during his speech to the summit.
His impassioned plea comes as Russian troops have seized the initiative on the battlefield in Ukraine amid worsening shortages of weapons and soldiers for Ukraine’s military. Western analysts and observers say the Russians are attacking in strength along four parallel axes in the northeast, aiming to press deeper into the Ukraine-held western part of the Donetsk region and also penetrating into the Kharkiv region north of it.

I seriously doubt the Ukraine holds out til the end of 2024.
We are in the end game of a defeated country and it does not matter how much money or munitions we send at this point.
It would have been so much better if the resources had been spent on beefing up Ukraine defense to give them the best leverage in a negotiated settlement but that time has likely passed.
The political leadership in the US , NATO and Ukraine is going to have a lot to answer for.
The western republic governments are bankrupt and deep in debt. The former Soviet republics need to unite and attack Russia in Russia, and destroy their oil production, which would destroy Russia’s ability to attack its neighbors.

You don’t need cannon shells, you need cannon fodder. I’m all for sending our current crop of houseguests from south of the border over to Ukraine to await their asylum hearings.
But outside of that, not one American life for Ukraine.
It would have been better if we minded our business and spent every dollar and man-hour domestically.
And when he runs out of that he’ll come back for more indefinitely. Ukraine is not our problem.
