And what sane person that could’ve left that week wouldn’t have? Especially if you had the trip was pre arranged.

BTW, he left the night before it got cold. Did he KNoW the power was going to go out?

The wife and drove to Lake Charles, Louisiana and spent 2 days in a hotel during that time. Does that make us evil?

Ted Cruz is not likeable and that unfortunately matters with a significant amount of the electorate vs. substance. If people don’t like you, they are simply not inclined to vote for you, whether they agree with you or not.

“ Trump and Cruz have probably put all that behind them now and moved on.”

Cruz is tone deaf

“ Time you speak of was 2016, not 1016.”

Really?

Republican Ted Cruz is neck and neck with his expected Democratic challenger.

The stench of rigging lingers again.

NEVER trust a democrat

Last time around, Cruz lost native Texans. The people who moved there was the voting block he won and that is what saved him.

I guess that’s why he was elected twice for office in the US senate.

Are you from Texas?

I’d like for his detractors to explain how Ted could have helped them stay warm by staying here in the state.

Trump is wildly popular in Texas and will win the state by double digits. People voting for Trump will vote for Cruz.

Trump should be loudly and obviously stumping for Cruz.

“Not sure if the tabulation computzer is on the up & up however”

That’s my worry, too. A machine spits out a pair showing how you voted. Then you insert that paper into another machine that gobbles it up. At that point you have no idea what’s happening to the info. “There’s many a slip between the cup and the lip.”

It’s ridiculous. Fill out a paper ballot, stick it in a box, and let the precinct workers tally for an hour after polls close. Too much fol-de-rol gives too much opportunity for funny business and/or errors.

You just pulled that out of your posterior.

Cruz is without question one of the most reliably conservative votes in the Senate who listens to his constituents and supports Trump 100%.

I am amazed at the total ignorance and stupidity of those on this forum who attack Cruz. We have about 90% of the Senate and Congress who deserve not to just lose their jobs but spend their lives in prison or be executed. And rather than focus on THEIR betrayal, FReepers can reliably be counted on to whine and nitpick over Cruz.

Cruz is aligned with the values of FR on 99% of issues.

If you think you can do better, run for office and show us all how its done.

And for those who don’t know, Cruz replaced a longterm RINO back in the Tea Party days when many of us were willing to crawl over broken glass to make sure the Republican nominee in the primaries was not the GOPe RINO replacement. And we DID IT.

I cannot say how pissed many of us will be if idiots attacking Cruz in places like this succeed in getting rid of him, but it isn’t going to be a good thing.

We need to get rid of Cornyn. We need to make sure we don’t lose one of the few good Senators we have with Cruz.

Heck, the wife and I plus another couple were on our way to Puerto Rico when it hit. We had to spend the night at the airport terminal because nothing was flying out. Finally made it out and I felt zero guilt when we hit the beach.

I think it is completely fine for him to take his family out of the state when the power grid failed.

I lived through that and he isn’t obligated to make his family suffer for the reactionary politics of faux conservatives.

I doubt Cornyn was even in the state.

Cruz is bashed and bashed and bashed when in point of fact he is the best conservative Senator the nation has.
