Congress unveiled the first six appropriations bills on Sunday to fund the government for most of 2024.

The rollout of the appropriations bills follows Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and other congressional leaders striking a deal to avert a government shutdown and fund the government for most of 2024.

The six appropriations bills would fund the Departments of Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Veterans Affairs, Justice, Commerce, and Energy. The bipartisan package amounts to 1,050-pages and includes more than $450 billion in funding for the fiscal year 2024.

Wouldn’t it be a “shame” if only the VA bill passed?

Defund Departments of Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Commerce, and Energy.

Transfer the money from those departments to caring for Veterans.

Once again, the Congress abrogates its responsibilities.
They are Constitutionally required to submit a fiscal budget. They have not done so for nearly 10 years.
The American People deserve better from their elected representatives.

They always do. No money out of their pockets, but often some finds the way INTO their pockets.

If they don’t reflect cuts in expenditures then the bill should not go forward.
