Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan revealed Monday that he was convinced to launch his Senate campaign after witnessing former President Donald Trump’s overt influence on the debate surrounding a bipartisan border bill last month.
“It’s why I decided to run for Senate,” the Republican Maryland Senate candidate said during an appearance on MSNBC.
Hogan, 67, announced his bid for the Senate seat currently occupied by retiring Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) on Feb. 9. The former governor had previously dismissed having any interest in serving in the upper chamber, citing the quarrelsome nature of life in the Senate.

Oh please. It was a bad bill, and an unnecessary one if they would just enforce the laws already on the books.
If he runs, he forces the Democrats to SPEND MONEY, maybe a lot of money, to defend their seat. If not, it’s just another freebie for them.
...and, on top of that, if he wins, he might even support Trump once in a while, which would come to exactly ‘once in a while’ more than any Democrat in that seat.
B.S. It is Hogan’s ego that causes him to run for Senate. That in addition to some promises by the “powers that be”.
Remember that Biden often insists that it was Trump’s “Charlottesville” remarks that made him decide to run for President? That was b.s. as well. Biden had decided it was his turn to be the “Big Guy” and graft money from the tax-payers. And the deep state promised him they would overlook his corruption and he would get that money if he just became their puppet.

Yes - Biden said that in his campaign launch video - he was so enraged by something Trump never said that he had to run for President.
