The New York Times is facing a sustained wave of backlash.
The Gray Lady has for several weeks been in the crosshairs of a vocal set of critics and readers who believe that Donald Trump poses a grave threat to American democracy and that the influential news organization isn’t adequately conveying those stakes to the public.
Criticism of The Times is nothing new, but as it appears with each passing day that Trump has a real shot of recapturing the White House, the expressions of disapproval have become particularly pronounced.
In the view of its critics, The Times has been far too distracted as of late by worries over President Joe Biden’s age, allowing it to steal attention away from the larger and far more serious danger posed by a second Trump administration. Critics have also argued that The Times covers Biden and Trump with disproportionate standards, placing false equivalence on issues surrounding the current president to those of the former president, who is facing 91 criminal counts and fantasized about being a dictator on “day one.”

So the Times just hasn’t been tough enough in bashing Trump? Really?
The complaint is the NYTimes is NOT far enough Left—it needs to trash Trump even more than is done daily.
What is the danger the left fears with a Trump win! Prosperity, secure borders, no wars, a stable world? They never articulate what specific thing they are afraid of.
My post was about the Leftists thinking the Times isn’t anti-Trump enough. It’s delusional to have that belief.
Communists don’t take bad news well. What the commie critics are saying is shut up about it.
And to think people trusted the NYT and Walter Cronkite and the rest of the media that good bit more back when Nixon was forced out.
It’s impossible to make a false equivalance betwee that which is real - Biden’s Crime Family — and that which is contrived.
Now the media feels an obligation to advocate for a political position. The loss of trust and credibility has become a nonissue.

In the early days of the Republic, newspapers were blatantly political and everyone knew it. There was no pretense of objectivity; our side is righteous and the other side is vile.
If the NYT were to go full anti-Trump, what difference would it make? Judging from what I read about NY politics and jurisprudence, Trump is unlikely to win NY or any state where the NYT is widely read or votes from devoted NYT readers.
At least phony objectivity would be shed.

Even though they were arrested and put in the gulag to suffer and die with everyone else, there was a certain group of prisoners who remained die-hard Marxist believers, who were certain it was all just a mistake, that they would be released and rehabilitated at any time, and who continued promote the Bolsheviks and Marxism to anyone who would listen.

You'll give some FReepers ideas that the President can suspend the civilian court system nationwide (hint - no) or delay Federal elections (hint - no).
Repeatedly read and hear that Trump is a threat to democracy, but that threat is never quantified.
Meanwhile Biden and his minions are behaving in such a way that represents a clear and present danger to the future of this nations’s future.
Me thinks the libs are on the brink of executing a scorched-earth policy as the reality gets more clear to them each day. 2025 is gonna be ugly no matter what happens. The left will burn it all down out of pure spite.
Every Slimes article has several pieces of anti-Trump propaganda—calling him “extremist”, “insurrectionist”, “danger to democracy” etc etc etc.

The dictator lie is in response to a sarcastic joke made by Trump on how the left says he's going to be dictator. The joke....okay, but maybe just the first day...
