Levi Strauss & Co. is laying off nearly 150 people from its San Francisco headquarters as part of a massive round of cuts it's executing this year.
The layoff affects 146 employees at Levi's office at 1155 Battery Street, according to a regulatory filing, and will be effective on April 27.
The company first announced impending layoffs in an earnings report in January, when it said that it would reduce its global workforce by 10% to 15% in the first half of 2024 as part of an initiative meant to save the company $100 million. At the time, Levi's didn't specify which offices would be affected.

Their clothing used to be made in the USA but about 30 years or more in the past I noticed them being made in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Columbia. All our local Levis manufacturers closed down.
Levis 501 jeans made in 1880 “made with white labor” the tags said, cost $1.80 cents. Eighty years later in 1960 they had risen in price to $2.60 cents a pair.
Today, sixty years later, they cost between $56 and $80. Talk about inflation! If the money supply had inflated as between 1880 and 1960 they should not cost more than $6.00 a pair.
I don’t think she is a conservative, but rather an excommunicated California lib. She has a couple younger school age children and wanted them back in school without masks. Her lawyer husband was out outspoken and got banned from Twitter. They moved to the Denver area from San Fran. Colorado gave up on the Covid craziness well before California.
Hopefully these layoffs are for the Woke and DEI employees who don’t contribute to the bottom line.
Companies have always had seasonal and transitioning/restructuring/whatever lay offs.
I followed a links in the article and came up with this doozy. This would qualify for a Dan Bongino multiple Muttley. Quadruple LOL. He showers while wearing his jeans..

Exactly, me too.

We went with Wrangler also. Since they sponsored Dale Earnhardt. It was a "Win Win"....
Don’t know...maybe Mexico?
Wrangler here too.
IIRC, Levi Straus started out during the California Gold Rush making work clothes. He used a tough fabric that was originally made in Nimes, France. It eventually began to be called “De Nimes” and then Denims.....there you have it.
The original Levi’s were made from canvas material

IMO, the ‘real’ advancement in durability was the inclusion of the rivets in critical areas that could rip/tear.....
Wrangler actually did go over to the dark side. Very disappointing.

I have bought Levi’s and they fit or they don’t for the same size. I now buy LL Bean. More comfortable to me.
