During a portion of an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) declared, “there should not be white men in red states telling people across this country, telling women and pregnant folks across this country what we can do with our own bodies.”
Host Kaitlan Collins asked, “What do you make of that, when we hear from some lawmakers, like Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), who say, on the idea of some states that don’t have any exceptions, ‘[T]wo wrongs don’t make a right.’ And the question is ‘not whether a woman should be forced to bring a child to term, it’s whether a child should be allowed to live,’ because there are Americans who share that view?”

Yes. No one is trying to tell women what they can do with their bodies. We’re telling them what they can’t do to someone else’s body. That is a matter of broad societal concern.
So no, Cori, we pro lifers won’t shut up about it.
When it includes killing babies...yeah they should.
Is that black bitch addressing me?
Of course men should get a say. Why do only women get the right to have sex and always have an escape hatch if they don’t want to become a parent? Men are told if they don’t want to be a parent, to keep it zipped.
Can’t disagree she’s a nasty one, but...
SCOTUS made pretty clear that this should be a STATE issue.
US Senators and Congresscritters ought just stay the hell out of it.
Let each State set their own parameters.
Why is she talking about white men in red States?
So then is it okay with the white men in blue States telling her what to do?
Or perhaps black men in red States would be okay because then they’re not white men?
what in the Sam Hill is she talking about?
“Men are told if they don’t want to be a parent, to keep it zipped.”
Men are told they don’t have to become a parent they don’t have to keep it zipped there’s abortion
For every abortion there is a father and a mother.
Aw shadfup, cori...you do NOT get to dictate speech in my world. (I left my typo...kinda short for what I really wanted to say)
Unutterable nincompoop.
Exactly- the left baby murderers want to murder unborns and want everyone who doesn’t agree with murder of innocents to shut up about it- Nope- sorry cory- we won’t shut up about it-
Women “and pregnant folk.”? Oh, if see what they did there. Kinda like carmela ‘fweedumb’ hawiss greetings recently. “Ladies and gentlemen and ‘all you others’....”. Got it.
You miss my point. If a man doesn’t want to be a parent, it doesn’t matter. He has to either skip sex completely, or accept some risk he will be held responsible for a child. He cannot opt out of parenthood.
Women face no such choice. They can have all the sex they want, and kill the baby or keep it.
Setting aside all the moral issues, the other problem is that Cori Bush has no issue with telling white men in red state what they should pay for.
Every time a man has sex, he risks parenthood. He cannot opt out. He cannot prevent abortion nor demand it. If he cannot accept that, he is told to keep it zipped.
Females can do anything they want and opt out of the consequences of sex.
That “freedom” is the root of the destruction of America.
Well said. Abortion is no longer a national issue. I’m not really sure people understand that reality.
As with the death penalty, speed limits, state taxation, etc...each state will find their own balance with abortion. This is as it should be.
I’m with the comedian Bill Burr on this issue. He believes women have the right to choose, but he also believes its killing a baby. There’s just no way to resolve these two competing realities which is why it is such a tough issue.
Eventually (over the next 100 years), most states will probably allow abortion in the first trimester. It will very depending on the state in the second trimester. It will be disallowed in the third trimester.
If Roe V Wade didn’t get instituted back in the early 70’s, most states would probably already be at this point. But, Roe v Wade stopped all debate causing the natural evolution of this issue to be stymied....and for extremes (abortion until birth in CA and illegal to have an abortion under any circumstance as in Tennessee) to take over.
And so it has been said.....
“We’re telling them what they can’t do to someone else’s body.”
Well put.
“Every time a man has sex, he risks parenthood. He cannot opt out. He cannot prevent abortion nor demand it.”
I seek logic and often get the opposite.
He can prevent abortion by not having sex as you say- every time he has sex he [risks] takes a chance at parenthood
He most certainly can demand an abortion men have been demanding abortions since at least 1973 1971 in New York
Men are quiet about abortion birth control and prolife issues so people pretend like ignoramuses that they’re innocent
The only innocent in the three people involved in an abortion is tge child
Every man that parents a person that was taken in an abortion will have to explain that to God
They can pull their head out and quit pretending they’re going to even along with a mob getting past God
“ He has to either skip sex completely, or accept some risk he will be held responsible for a child. He cannot opt out of parenthood.”
What?
He has to skip sex. How is that such a complicated calculus level unsolvable problem.
he could use a rubber or get snipped if he does not want kids.
