The Chicago Bears revealed a plan for their new stadium Monday on the lakefront of the Windy City.
A source close to the stadium project tells FOX 32 that the team is investing over $2 billion in private money into a "publicly owned domed stadium and park space."

then the illegal immigrants can live in the current stadium!!!
Arlington Park racecourse was a gorgeous facility at one time.
With a significant Bears investment. If crime, wokism, taxes, parking and other issues was the reason to move, those certainly fell by the wayside and became not so important.
Our family owned a horse that won a nice stakes race there 20 years ago.
“The phrase “throw a billion dollars from the helicopter” comes from University of Chicago economist Allen Sanderson. Sanderson observed that if the intention of public stadium funding is economic growth, a more effective method would be dropping money at random from the sky.”
Bullet proof glass?

It should have been.... I dropped enough money there over the years !!
Yep, another way to milk local tax payers. Happening all around the country all the time.
These sports teams cant stand on their own, have to be subsidized.
From the democrat hack who represents Arlington Heights in Springfield: “ I look forward to the many interesting proposals to come on the future of Arlington Park like new business development, more affordable housing, or welcoming centers for new arrivals.”
If the folks living there were dubious about the Bears moving in, they’re really going to love it when the former racetrack turns into “a welcoming center for new arrivals” - nothing like a flood of illegals to rouse the NIMBY response in the affluent ‘burbs.
From what I heard about the Arlington Heights site they were stymied by local school districts, et. al. piling on for taxes.
Shame about the race track shutting down. It was a great place to spend an afternoon watching the races.

Closed permanently. The Bears were considering a new stadium on the property but that was never going to happen.
L
Soldier Field has so much history. Hate to see it’s demise, but everything changes.
Agreed.
And after all that money they sunk to upgrade it.
What a waste.
Is it including cots to house illegals?
I would feel so safe going to a game in downtown Chicago.
If they secure the space for 6 hours, so what? Don’t support it.
