Four for Reform | Vote These Nominees to the NRA Board
AmmoLand ^ | March 12, 2024 | Dean Weingarten

Posted on 03/15/2024 7:17:08 AM PDT by marktwain

The NRA is in serious trouble, the worst crisis in the history of the organization.  There is no point in sugarcoating the reality. Many of the problems are self-inflicted by the current administration of the organization.

It is this writer’s considered opinion the fight to restore the Second Amendment can best be served by voting for the following four nominees for NRA Board Directors:

Vote only for those four nominees. Voting only for those four magnifies your vote.

In addition, vote Yes on the proposed bylaw change to create a Chief Compliance Officer. It is a position that is badly needed at the NRA.

Then, place your director election ballot and the bylaw change ballot in the provided envelope, seal it, sign it, place a stamp on it, and send it off.

About 95% of ballots are never returned. This makes your ballot all the more valuable. For those who are eligible, the ballot is in the March edition of the NRA magazine.

I am an NRA member, but you gave no context about the issues that the current Admin is creating or what kind of “reform” the suggested candidates stand for.

I voted for these 4 and a few others as well. I would note for others, Jeff Knox is the son of Neal Knox. A known reformer of NRA. Critic as well.

“There are 34 candidates listed on your NRA ballot this year vying for 25 seats on the Board of Directors. Twenty five of the candidates are incumbents running for reelection. Five candidates are “new” names selected by the board’s Nominating Committee, which is controlled by the failed regime. Only four, Journey, Marshall, Fusaro, and Knox, are outsiders nominated by petition of the members.

“You can vote for up to 25 candidates, but you don’t have to vote for all 25. Bullet voting for just the four of us increases the weight of your votes and increases the odds that the four of us will be elected. Due to his name recognition as the owner of Gunsite Academy, Buz Mills always gets enough votes to easily win a seat. He and Ronnie Barrett will be among the top vote-getters in this election, so he doesn’t need our help or your vote to win a seat, though including a vote for Buz doesn’t hurt us. What does hurt is if you vote for 20 or 25 candidates, even if you include the four of us. Those extra votes serve to bolster the votes of low-information NRA voters who just vote for the Nominating Committee candidates.

“To give your votes the most weight, only vote for the four reform candidates. If you personally know any of the other candidates and are convinced that they’ve seen the light and won’t continue to support the cabal that’s been driving the Association down the drain, it’s your choice to include them, but don’t vote for people you don’t know, and keep your selections to a minimum.”

Note, I have no specialized knowledge of the NRA or its board. I pulled the quotes because I felt they might be of interest.

I believe at least one of the four candidates has a YouTube video.

WIKI

The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) is a gun rights organization in the United States, which aims to advance gun rights in the United States via legal action, in keeping with its stated goal to “restore the essential right to keep and bear arms in the United States.” The FPC seeks to approach gun rights advocacy in a more targeted and effective way than the National Rifle Association (NRA), specifically by working with targeted legal teams to advance legislation in support of gun rights causes.

California governor Gavin Newsom has described the FPC as “California’s leading pro-gun group.”

Thanks for the post, marktwain.

I am a Life Member of the NRA and a long-time Jeff Knox-Firearms Policy Coalition supporter.

I spoke with Jeff several days ago; we had a most productive discussion about the Second Amendment and NRA’s recent difficulties. Jeff provided me a brief synopsis of the needs of the NRA and told me that these four gentlemen could help the NRA. He then asked me to vote for them, which I promptly did.

I am most hopeful that the NRA will once again become a powerful force in our fight to preserve out God-given FReedoms.

And, I hope that ALL the pro-2A groups will band together to become an even more powerful force in our fight to preserve out God-given FReedoms.

Vote yes.

It is a much needed position which reports directly to the Board of Directors.

It provides a counter to the all-powerful Executive VP position.

It is a way to insure the NRA follows the law.
