“The Electoral College votes on December 9, 2024.”
The assembled Congress convenes on Jan. 6 to count the electoral votes.
That is obviously what I said.

Not buying that. He picked an arbitrary date to retire that just so happened to be right after the deadline for backfilling his seat with a special election? He was blackmailed or bribed, get real.
To: MountainWalker
I don’t believe so.
I think he deeply dislikes President Trump, has the financial means to leave before the end of his term, and sees leaving as a way to somehow stick it to Trump.

Okay, how does his leaving accomplish that?

He pretty much voted conservative. I think we’re in trouble in the house in November. We were before all these resignations. Gerrymandering almost ensured it. Losing a seat in Mississippi, Alabama and lousiana to save for minorities which is democrats basically. Then New York redistricting will also hurt. What a mess.

I think we’re in trouble in the house in November. The Republicans will win at least 3 mote seats in North Carolina. So that gives us some cushion.

It’s clear what the plan is by the Deep State. Convert the House to majority Dem so Congress can officially declare Trump an insurrectionist right before the election - just as the Supreme Court telegraphed for Congress to do before the election. And once again unelected officials will rule supreme. Are there just oo many traitors to overcome? Congress, judges, prosecutors, legislators, governors. Looks like they've got the situation under control.

In what universe is any politician in Congress today comparable to George Washington?

AC talked about how military service doesn’t necessarily make someone fitting for public office (since the Congressman in question touted his status as a veteran as though it were a credential).
Then you mention George Washington, as though that does anything to refute AC’s point.
It’d be akin to saying “Anyone can play professional basketball; after all, Michael Jordan did it!”

George Washington was a military veteran. George Washington left the military and went home to manage his plantation and other properties. He didn’t parlay his military pedigree into a political career where he’d live at the expense of the U.S. taxpayers and/or sell himself out to business interests while serving in government.

You’re mixed up. What you say here has nothing to do with your previous post; you’re posting word salad.
