Drug addicts near a firehouse in East Harlem have been seen pooping and shooting up outside the facility, the New York Post reported Saturday.
The disturbing news comes as Democrat-controlled New York City grapples with a drug crisis and rampant crime.
Battalion Chief Burgess shared his thoughts on the scene outside the Engine 35, Ladder 14 firehouse, where photos show people sitting on the ground.

This whole thing spiraled out of control when they stopped busting users for simple posession 50 years ago. It has probably gone past the point where any ordinarly methods can fix it.
Option 1 is to make abslutely everything legal with the proviso that if you ever test positive for anything that you are barred for life from any sort of public assistance or any publicly funded job. No narcan. No rehab. Let Darwin do the job.
Option 2 would be to bust users and put them in rehab and bust dealers and put them in graves.
Of course random drug testing for all elected and appointed persons would be of great use. Fail the test and you are out of office and barred from ever holding any public office again.

Something has to happen to solve the drugs crisis. If junkies are this near to death, they should be eliminated. Wasting $$ on them is unfair to the workers who are keeping the country functioning. Almost...
Just got back from Singapore. The cleanest, safest city around. No druggies, “homeless” , pan handlers, graffiti...
They have tough drug laws and enforce them. It’s a pleasure to walk around town. And it’s a very prosperous country as well.

I like Singapore too, I’d like to go back for a vacation someday, but I wouldn’t trade the freedoms we have for living there.
