A record 59 percent of surveyed Americans believe abortion should be legal, according to a new Fox News poll published Wednesday, as the Supreme Court argued over whether abortion pills should be outlawed, and GOP politicians consider support for a national abortion ban.
Support for abortion rights has increased by double digits since early 2022, just before the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that removed federal protections for abortion procedures. The Dobbs ruling created a cascading effect of abortion restrictions in Republican-controlled states nationwide and sparked a new movement of abortion rights activism.
The 59 percent figure is a significant increase from the April 2022 record low of 44 percent in an identical Fox News poll.
Support for making abortion legal in all or most circumstances has gone up in every demographic, including those considered most critical of abortion rights. That includes a 16 percent increase among people 65 or older, a 12 percent rise among conservatives, an 11 percent increase among registered Republicans and a 10 percent increase among white evangelical Christians.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have predicted that the overturning of Roe would have buoyed abortion the way that it has, but go figure... the pro-aborts seized the initiative and have, to some extent, succeeded in changing the subject away from the murder of the unborn toward some nebulous concept of “reproductive rights” that’s clearly resonating with voters. It’s diabolical bulls—t, but in evil times such as ours diabolical bulls—t wins.

Although the righteous and noble position on abortion is being pro-life, unfortunately it is a political loser for the GOP.
Why are all the race baiters not accusing the abortionists of racism?
I think they use abortion a lot before elections for two reasons.
1. They can cover their election fraud by making the soaring win look like it was all about pro abortion because everyone so adores abortion.
2. We fall for it and look like idiots while we blame and trash our own because we can’t win unless we love and promote abortion.

Perhaps if we spent more time focusing and talking on the total failure of every other thing in America instead of quivering over how the RATs are going to win because of abortion we might get somewhere.

I would not be surprised if the Establishment gave SCOTUS the green light to overturn Roe. They knew 1) it would not outlaw abortion in the U.S., and 2) it would fire up their voting base.

If you don’t see the difference then you must see abortion as a relatively meaningless medical procedure, which is a view that seems to be taking over Free Republic.
