Former President Donald Trump officially announced his position on abortion on Monday, ending months-long speculation about how he would handle the issue should he be elected in November.
In a video posted to Truth Social, Trump said the issue of abortion is about “the will of the people” and should be left up to states to decide. The 45th president touted his role in nominating the Supreme Court justices who ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade in their Dobbs decision — ending 50 years of an invented constitutional right to abortion and sending the issue back to individual states and their elected representatives.

You are correct.
Biggest issue here is that society has broken down and morality isn't what it used to be or should be. Unless more effort is put into educating and reasoning abortion is murder we are not going to make much headway. Our society is sick and depraved and needs help.
It has always been a 10th Amendment issue.
And Federalism and a Republican form of government is by its very nature messy.
Donald Trump respects our Constitution.
And don’t forget the American church which has completely failed in their responsibility.
Since the repeal of Roe.
Has any state banned abortion in all circumstances?
Until I see enough states banning abortion, enough states that you could pass a Constitutional Amendment banning abortion.
A national ban on abortion is a fantasy.
Which is moot until we restore the republic.
I agree. Any talk about banning abortion at the federal level will doom his campaign.
It also doesn’t recognize the intended constitutional relationship between the states and the federal government.
LBJ couldn’t have planned the democrat abortion policy better. It is long past time for black Americans to learn their history of Darwinism, Ota Benga, Eugenics and Margaret Sanger.
Well ok then. Pass an amendment like we did with the 13th amendment. Otherwise there’s nothing in the Constitution to permit, or to ban it. I mean honestly, let’s have some integrity. What I just said was the primary criticism of Roe v Wade for 50 years. No one is more pro life than me, but I refuse to accept that we should overthrow the left’s refusal to follow the Constitution only to ourselves refuse to do so
If you have the right to life in Louisiana, you should also have it in New York.
As I’m sure you know that would require 2/3rds of each house to vote for it and for 3/4ths of the states to ratify it. That means that 13 states can block any such amendment.
Frankly I see no way for this to happen.
So...per the intent of the Constitution?
Granted but it is why you don’t render an opinion on what should happen. If anything, state what you think will happen.
I believe abortion is a form of murder, with the exception of saving the life of the woman who is pregnant. Happily I’ve never been faced with such a choice and I wouldn’t wish such a thing on anyone.
However, the total legal ban that the world I was born into has not endured. I think the best we can hope for is a state-by-state ban on abortions after a set period of time. Certainly late-term abortions should be outlawed, but I seriously doubt that will happen in every state.
Fine as far as it goes, this is a state issue. Trump was clear that each person is ultimate decider, and gave good emphasis on IVF. Missed if he spoke of adoption, don’t recall it mentioned. But what about federal approval/rejection, facilitating it, such as allowing it on federal facilities like military bases, and importantly, federal funds for abortion. Get the federal government out of it—no approvals, no funding, not allowed on federal facilities. Clarify and expand the Hyde amendment.
Please note that Trump did not actually take a position on abortion himself. He is being deliberately cowardly for fear of offending sinful white women.
This country has had a godless majority since the 1990s and BJ Clinton. Trump basically just admitted it.
Telling God’s truth regardless of the consequences is what God demands of us. It’s one thing to have a federal versus state opinion, but you need to state your own view and stand for what’s right.
Thank you for stating reality.
The Great Compromiser! Some lives are up for vote. Trust the system.
Trump is correct.
