If by some miracle, Trump wins the 2024 election, Congress and the courts will use their power to reign in his executive abilities. They did this to him during his first term, even when Republicans controlled the house and the Senate.
Too many in the Republican party are worse than worthless. Even those who are not working to further the Democrat agenda, are mostly much happier when they are in the minority. Then they can be invited to all the right parties and campaign on conservative issues that they have no intentions of trying to enact when in power.

When I was growing up in the 1930s, the family had a Bannerman Catalogue that had Civil War canons for sale for a few hundred dollars and a lot of other military surplus items. Someone in the family had bought a trapdoor Springfield with a ramrod bayonet that my brother and I found in the attic. I have a photo of my maternal grandfather with a carbine version.

But everybody lining up to take the experimental clot shots, lock down themselves and their children, and isolate their grandparents in nursing homes just because bureaucrats insisted on it doesn't give me any warm fuzzies about the matter.
