US President Joe Biden has urged “the Israelis to just call for” a six-to-eight-week ceasefire, remarks the White House adamantly insisted did not mark a major shift in policy even though he did not mention Hamas or a hostage deal in his appeal to Israel.
“What I’m calling for is for the Israelis to just call for a ceasefire, allow for the next six, eight weeks, total access to all food and medicine going into the country,” Biden told Univision, a US Spanish-language TV network, in an interview aired Tuesday.
“I’ve spoken with everyone from the Saudis to the Jordanians to the Egyptians. They’re prepared to move in,” Biden said. “They’re prepared to move this food in. And I think there’s no excuse to not provide for the medical and the food needs of those people. It should be done now.”
Asked whether Netanyahu is more concerned about his own political survival than Israel’s national interest, Biden responded, “I think what he’s doing is a mistake… I don’t agree with his approach.”
The Univision interview was taped last Wednesday — two days after the IDF’s deadly strike on a World Central Kitchen convoy and a day before Biden held a call with Netanyahu during which he reportedly threatened to cease support of Israel during the war unless Jerusalem made major changes to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In my view, every leader does first, what’s best for them, second, what’s best for their key supporters, and third, whatever resonates with their base. Nowhere on the list, usually, is what’s best for the nation, or what’s best for civilization, or what’s right or “true” or “just.” There have been some notable exceptions, but those leaders are quickly replaced. This is the nature of politics. Fortunately, I think Netanyahu has what’s best for Israel high up on his personal list. He probably will be replaced once this is all over because the colossal intelligence failure did occur on his watch and that’s just what happens when incident’s occur. It’s not fair. It’s not “just.” But it’s the way things are.

But then the Muslims turned the narrative around completely with their propaganda and their protests. And the Muslim vote in the Michigan Democrat primary scared Biden. So now we’re fronting for Hamas.
It’s amazing (and very sad) how morally weak the United States has become.

I believe Israel provides us with a lot of intelligence...and they are an ally. I don’t understand at all why we are supporting Hamas via supporting the Muslims (aka Palestinians) that support Hamas.
When biden et al start calling for a ceasefire on the part of the islamists, then maybe Israel has cause to give them some heed.
But as long as the calls for a cease fire and end of hostilities are directed towards only one side (Israel) they can go pound sand.

The actions and statements from all parties suggest that there is some significant coercion ongoing behind the scenes.
Don’t forget that their response to Iran’s threatened ‘retaliation’ was shut down by Israel’s bold threat to attack Iran directly, meaning that pressure has been brought to bear specifically regarding the feral occupants of the terrorist enclaves.
If IDF doesn’t engage Rafah in less than 2 weeks to finish hamas, it’s clear that someone in the administration gave Israel a shameless ultimatum...
