Apparently the aim was to get control of the uranium and thus a lock on France’s energy supply. French mines in Niger are where the uranium for France’s power plants comes from.
I am sure some of Putin’s useful idiots will be along shortly to tell us that there is a small community of ethnic Russians living in Niger since the time of the Czars and Putin just had to take over Niger using his mercenaries to protect the ethnic Russians from the dreaded homo Niger neonazis....
I half expect Putin to say that he has to take over California and Oregon due to all of the “ethnic Russians” who have been living in America since Fort Rus or some such.
Okay makes sense, so why is it a US problem? Uranium is useless in the US since we can't build any plants anyway. Why is everything a US problem?
