British soldier dies after being shot in Kosovo "in front of a partially built Christian Church"

British soldier dies after being shot in Kosovo

A British soldier with the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo, KFOR, died after being shot in the Yugoslav province's main city of Pristina, a KFOR spokesman said.

The spokesman, Captain Ollie Major, said: "A British soldier was injured as a result of a gunshot wound. The soldier later died."

Major said the soldier had been on duty in front of a partially built Christian Orthodox church when he was shot.

He did not give further details and did not name the soldier.

Unrest between Kosovo's ethnic Albanian majority, most of whom are Muslim, and its Serbian minority, mostly Orthodox, has dogged the UN mission there since it took over the administration in mid-1999.

Serbian forces had been forced out of Kosovo after 11 weeks of NATO airstrikes launched to protect the oppressed ethnic Albanians.

Oh, I get it. EVERY damn Croatian and Muslim wherever the Serbs wanted to be was somehow magically guilty of SOMETHING.

Check out the story of the Tchornopoliye "death camps" and then tell me how far you'd care to trust anything else the western/NATO media has ever told us about the Balkans.

Fusion you seem to conveniently forget that your KLA/terrorist entity turned over 4000 serviceable weapons to the British in Macedonian not so long ago. You seem very impressed with the Islamic entity with its mystique that the KLA need now a days considering they are no longer front page news. Interesting things are being learned everyday and the connection between Bin Ladin, the Islamic aid organizations in Pristina and of course the KLA back page news boys. As I have said the word terrorist and KLA are very close in definition and as you know it just takes the desire and they too will be back in the hills having tea with what’s left of Bin Ladin’s boys. The KLA are very naive to think they are in control after all Fusion Afghanistan is still smoldering and no Taliban to be found. Nato has completed what it meant to do but of course the final stages are still on going. Omar looked funny in the blanket. Where is Ahla now?

Ok it was an accident. Like yesterday's accidental shooting of a German soldier dead. NATO sure trains its troops to be clumsy on duty.

Attention all NATO troops serving in Kosovo, point the barrel of your rifels AWAY from you. Don't they teach that in basic training?

The truth isn't a defense against libel charges in England. There are many reasons why I do not live in England; that's one of them.

Should also mention that the German reporters who figured that one out were not related to the LM journal. The LM journal was simply the only group who tried to tell the story to the English people.

Let's get some things straight: We continue to make the Balkans safe for Islamist radicals, and our policy will come back to bite us. In case it has escaped you, gratitude to non-Muslims does not seem to be an Islamic virtue: our foreign policy has plainly been pro-Muslim everywhere except Palestine for decades, and upon reflection has been objectively pro-Muslim there too--only America restrains Likud-governed Israel from wiping out its enemies. bin Laden is the Islamic world's thanks for our troubles.

Perhaps the Serbs simply have a clearer understanding of our now common enemy, having dealt with them for centuries.

The AFP refers to Unrest, rather than being more honest in explaining that the vicious attacks have been relentless and directed primarily by the majority against the minority, with religion having next to nothing to do with it. And this Unrest...has dogged the UN mission: The understated, informal, passive has dogged avoids the true relationship between the KLA and US/NATO: the phoney KLA disarmament; the passive, peacekeeping, with "force protection" at its core, wherein murder and mayhem are passed off as mere Unrest;and the impunity given to the so-called UCPMB.

...NATO airstrikes launched to protect the oppressed ethnic Albanians. The Use of the word protect is more offensive than the word oppressed. NATO used, and to a large degree, created the ethnic Albanian refugees; they certainly cared nothing for their well-being. The more, the better to justify the illegal attack--an attack completely non-humanitarian for all parties, even the attackers. Of course, the word oppressed stands as a single-word indictment, with no mention of a civil conflict against a large fighting force, the KLA, which controlled a substantial swath of Kosovo. How can any truth surround another innocent dead?

"Wow. Are you telling me that the Serbs didn't harm a single Croat or Muslim between 1991 and 1994?"

Of course Serbian soldiers harmed Croats and Muslims....it was a war, shlomo! Women were raped, civilians killed and displaced, it's a harsh reality of war! But there's no proof of the ethnic cleansing and concentration camps that the media was shoving down our throats while they were wagging the dog! Don't you remember the photographer who took that photo of a man in front of a powerstation fence...then the journalists took the photo out of context and started claiming the guy was in a concentration camp? It was a big deal, where were you, sleeping?

Fusion you are such a sad little tit, well a sad little Walter Mitty type who hangs around on the edge of the action trying to look as if he is part of the action.

What you need to do is get your self a wife and start living in the real world.

You would be surprised about the number of NDs you can have, in all armies including the American.

Tiredness, boredom, reacting to action, even horse play, I have even had a ND myself.

ND = Negligent Discharge.

Russia has a hell of a lot of NDs per training cycle.

Cheers Tony

Bosnia is not a extremist Islamic state, and life is settling back to a more normal level, I have mates serving over there now and it is a hell of a lot better than when I was out there in 1993.

Then it was overrun with criminals, Para militaries and adventures of the worst kind, although there were many decent people on all sides.

Yugoslavia was a classic case of what happens when nationalism, corruption and criminals all allowed to hold sway

The Sarajevo market was shelled more than once and in many cases the shells were proved to come from Serb positions.

The Break-up of Yugoslavia was more than just an Islamic Vs Christian thing, but not many people care, as far as most on this site the war started in 1995 in Krajina.

Another casualty of the policy malpractice of Bill Clinton. Many more to come, unfortunately.

Thanks be to Serb resistance. Not to the West which invited the Islamic extremists in to fight for the Muslims.

Yugoslavia was a classic case of what happens when nationalism, corruption and criminals all allowed to hold sway.

I agree. And most of those were in NATO's capitals at that time.

You would be surprised about the number of NDs you can have, in all armies including the American.

Especially in Kosovo.

Negligent Discharge should be applied to the entire Bosnian/Kosovo mission.

Would you be so kind as to voice your opinions on America? In light of the fact that the Brits are in Kosovo/Tetovo at their request?
