NEW YORK (Dow Jones/AP) - NYTimes.com and National Public Radio on Wednesday announced the launch of Justice Learning, a civics education Web site for high school students and teachers based on NPR's radio program, Justice Talking.

The Web site will use content from Justice Talking and related lesson plans and articles from The New York Times Learning Network, a free service for teachers, parents and students in grades 3-12.

Justice Learning is designed around eight distinct civics issues that are updated twice a year. Current issues include affirmative action, civil liberties, death penalty, gun control, juvenile justice and Web censorship.

"The New York Times Learning Network brings news issues to life for its audience," said Gary Kalman, communications director of Justice Talking.

The Learning Network receives nearly four million page views a month during the school year, the company said.

NPR's Justice Talking is produced by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania.

New York Times Digital is the Internet division of The New York Times C.

The first program should be on the electoral college. The NYT and NPR need a refresher.

The second will be on the parts of the Bill of Rights which don't apply anymore according to the NYT. Parts of ammendments 1, 4, 5 and all of 2, 9 and 10 will be covered.

Now, let's see. A lefty newspaper is teaming with a lefty radio system to "teach" students about the US Constitution? Lies and distoriiitions will be the order of the day. Pathetic.

The Second Amendment will be savaged. But the First Amendment won't fare much better.

This should be a sadly humorous site. What sort of PC, pink constiutional spin will emerge from the bowels of these organiztions?

I look forward to the 2nd amendment being flayed.

When I read this, I spit out my coffee, started coughing and stood stunned - trying to decide whether to scream, laugh, or cry.

affirmative action, civil liberties, death penalty, gun control, juvenile justice and Web censorship

Question: what the hell does affirmative action have to do with civics?

Comment: Notice how the topic is called 'gun control' instead of 'second amendment rights' or even 'gun ownership'. They think the debate is over. I marvel (and cringe) at how the libs are able to define the language of our debates and bend us over their knee time and time again : (

It would be hard to think of anything else that, at the same time, would be more boring yet more worthy of satire.

Imagine teh outrage among the media and educational establishment if the Washington Times and Rush Limbaugh teamed up to do the same things.

If these two organizations poison young minds with their drivel we will be like Sweden in 10 years.
