I'm beginning to understand why Pat Buchannan (whom I have never supported) used the tag line he did when running for president.

Lock and Load!

"Parents don't have the right to stop young men and women from receiving the help they need," Besen said. "The parents themselves are often the threat. These {homosexual student] groups are there to help vulnerable people who are subject to humiliation and harassment get the services they need."

There it is folks. Parents don't have the right. The state will decide what child needs what "help", and what services they need.

The educational establishment thinks that parents are often the threat. This is going to get worse before it gets better.

Do you think it interesting that the Pope used the words, "deviant affections" to describe pedophiles, but never used the word for sodomite?

He didn't need to. The concept is included in the broader term that he did use. What are you implying?

So the Gaystapo's war on America hits a bump in the road. Good news, indeed.

The question is what is the Pope implying by using the words, "obvious deviations in their affections?" Afterall, he isn't Alan Greespan, he can come right out and say what he means. Frankly, the word "obvious" is the one that is most troubling, perhaps discrete is okay?

Well, Hillary thinks the child, the parents, and the village should decide on the child's wants and needs. It used to be the parents decided. God help us if Hillary gets any further than she has.

Excuse me? I had to rub my eyes and read that quote a second time. Oh, horrors! We certainly wouldn't want a parents' rights to be taken too far... /heavy sarcasm

LOL, now we've found common ground.

I don't own a weapon. I'm challenging the wisdom of my decision more and more every day.

May I recommend the 9-millimeter from Kahr Arms, in stainless steel? The 40-caliber is a bit more powerful, but you may sacrifice availability of an extra round due to the slightly larger size of the ammunition.

What no battle rifle? Every civilized person should at least have a .40 handgun (Glock 27 is compact and holds 11 shots), a .308 battle rifle (FN-FAL) and a scoped snipers rifle (Remington 700). Some body armor and night vision are not a bad idea either.

As you both may or may not have inferred from my post, I am not interested in buying a gun to protect and defend myself or even my house. There is nothing given to me by G-d that He can not replace in a heartbeat.

However, our civilization is spiralling out of control towards its own destruction. Whether this is the Biblical end time, it appears to be the end time of what we fondly call Western Civilization. Barbarians are at the gates and the center can not hold unless G-d decides on another Great Awakening. He may, but we have squandered 2 so I don't know why He would waste His time on a third.

With all that we know on the brink, I may need to be armed to defend my neighborhood or town. To that end, I'm not looking at a weapon of self-defense, but a weapon of war. What form that may be I have not yet decided as I have not yet decided to pursue this thought beyond rambling on Free Republic. But that may change sooner than I like to think.

Shalom.

"I'm glad students are waking up to this fact. They aren't as easily led as some people think. A lot of times the liberal indoctrination just doesn't take."

I think parents can exert much influence over their children's thinking if they take the time. Problem is, most don't.

Our fifteen-year old has embraced many of our conservative ideals. We have taken the time to tell him our beliefs as well as why we believe the way we do. We offer information from many sources to support our ideas. This has enabled him to successfully "peg" which of his teachers are liberals and conservatives. We've had many interesting discussions while picking apart and ridiculing stupid remarks ( like "socialism has worked quite well for the Europeans, it makes everything more equal" made by his dumba$$ government teacher) made by various teachers. I've been able to gain loads of insight into my child's thinking and am quite proud of direction he's taken. Of course, if we as parents are "not there" it's easy to see how kids can buy into the crap they are fed by the liberal teachers.

Teaching kids to think approvingly of homosexual behavior is a form of child abuse.

Any exposure of children to homosexual behavior is child abuse

I kind of like my Para-Ordnance 7.45 LDA. The 45 caliber ammo means you only need to be reasonably close to the target to make a sizeable "impression." Nice, smooth double action as well. Besides, if you can't settle things in 8 rounds, you are probably in trouble anyway.

This is why the homosexual advocacy groups want to take parents out of the picture by both keeping them in the dark about the pro-homosexual activities in the schools and by discrediting their ideals where ever they can. Keep up the good work!

As for me, my wife and I have given up on government schools and gone to homeschooling. That doesn't mean we bury our heads in the sand and ignore what happens in the government schools, though. We are just as outspoken as we always are because there are many parents who do not recognize the dangers that lurk there.
