NO STOPPING HER-Carol Mosley Braun (D-IL) To Announce Senate Bid, Dems Laugh at '04 Prez Ambitions

Former Senator Carol Moseley Braun is expected today to announce that she will be running for her old seat on Capitol Hill.

Moseley Braun lost it six years ago to Republican Peter Fitzgerald.

According to a Chicago Democratic operative, Moseley Braun elicted laughter from several party officials weeks ago when she told them she was mulling a run for the Presdiency of the United States.

'They couldn't help themselves, said one operative..'It just came out of left field.'

Actually, it's not suprising that the former Senator, who once famously told staffers that she deserved to be treated like a princess, has an inflated opinion of her political powers.

There was a period this year when she was telling associates that she was mulling a run for mayor of Chicago.

This, against sitting Mayor Richard Daley's entrenched political machine, who won his last re-election bid with 69 percent of the vote.

Her and Sharpton can do a tag-team thing!

I guess the only way this could get any better for us, is if Farakhan would see fit to join in the Democrat debate...hehehe...

He could educate the country on the mystical meaning of the number 19, while explaining why Sadaam is a great leader.

We will need a scorecard to keep up with all the wacky things being said if 'Jihad' Cindy McKinney, Carol Mosely Fruad and Reverend Al make the Presdiental debates.

Heck, Sharpton looks like the moderate in that field!

ATTENTION ALL ILLINOIS FREEPERS!!!

Unless you need to vote in the Illinois Republican primary in 2004 or hate Fitzgerald for some reason, I suggest you change your registration and become a Democrat. Then you can vote for Carolyn Mosley Braun in the Democratic Senate primary in 2004, because she is the weakest candidate against Fitzgerald and he's the most vulnerable Republican senator in 2004.

Tell your Republican friends!!! Spread the word!!!

True, but as I mentioned in another thread, since about 70% of the Democratic primary vote comes from Cook county, she has a good chance of winning the nomination.

That's what Taegan Goodard said at politicalwire.com, but he's just a Democrat hack.

To be honest, I think Fitzgerald only has to worry about two possible Democratic opponents. St. Comptroller Daniel Hynes (D) and investment banker Blair Hull (D). Congresswoman Jane Schakowsky (D) has already declined to run for the Senate.

Good luck to Carolyn Mosely Braun!!! Perhaps Fitzgerald should use the Gray Davis strategy that helped Bill Simon get the nomination in order for Braun to win the nomination in Illinois.

This is all coming from Donna Brazlie to make sure that Sharpton does not take over from Jesse as the #1 black leader openly defying the DNC.

If need be I think she will run a black candiate in every region!

If she does announce, this will be the best news Peter Fitzgerald has heard in a very long time.

Amen to that! Infinitely better than her running for Prez.
Maybe Rick Santorum can have a little talk with Denny Hastert about whether primary challenges are a good thing.

First Gov. Ryan gives clemancy to a bunch of killers, then in Chicago, the city concil votes against the war with Iraq, and now this. Whats in the Illinois drinking water?
