[history]
We Will Not Shrink From War Iraq has flouted the will of the world with its deceptions and empty claims.
President Bush warned in his State of the Union address that "the gravest danger facing America and the world is outlaw regimes that seek and possess nuclear, chemical and biological weapons." Exhibit A is Saddam Hussein's Iraq. As the president said, we need only look at how Saddam has terrorized, oppressed and murdered his own people to understand his methods. And, perhaps most critically, the president confirmed that Iraq has open channels and ties to terrorist organizations, including al Qaeda.

I believe war will come either way. Saddam wants to wait so that Iraq can be better armed and strike first. Bad idea.

Give war a chance.

Wednesday will be more of a test for Germany, France, and the entire UN than anything.
I suspect they will pass that test because to fail it is to become irrelevant. We shall see.

The Wall Street Journal... BY COLIN L. POWELL The one-time Newspaper of Record takes another dagger. These sorts of semi-official op-eds from Administration Big Names used to automatically go to Howell Raines' increasingly irrelevant fish wrapper. I'm glad to see the White House press office play a little hardball. It's about time. |

My newspaper of choice is "The Wall Street Journal".
It usually takes me most of the day to read it. I read it in bits and pieces while taking breaks from working.
If you get a chance to buy the paper today do so! The articles in the Opinion Section today are well worth reading!
If I find the time... I'll post some more of the articles... if not maybe somebody else will.
Some of the titles:
Hail, Columbia
Gun Control, Ashcroft Style
The Op-Ed Alliance
Article by Michael Gonzalez about the Op-Ed from leaders of Italy, Spain and Britain
And of course
this article.
