Why not just link to the site and suggest that everyone click on the "Contact Us" link on the site? Seems easier and faster. :-)

Because "contact us" gives you a lame email form that will be ignored by the Saddam lovin' French. I think a phone or fax number is much more effective in communicating.
That's why. :)
To: Recovering_Democrat
The lame email forms won't be ignored if they get 10,000 messages of dissatisfaction with their stance.

Dear Monsieur l'Ambassadeur,
I am a member of the conservative political discussion website freerepublic.com. As you may have determined from other inbound e-mails, posters on that website are less than happy with France's stance on the Iraq question. I would like to voice my apology on the neanderthal and counter-productive aspect of some of the comments posted there. These are passionate times. Most thinking Freepers acknowledge that France is in the difficult position of being fundamentally a part of the Western alliance but with a domestic Left that must at all costs not be given the oxygen of a hot button issue with which to reinvigorate themselves. I'm sure I speak for many in saying that we remain confident that, when the chips are down, your great nation will be shoulder-to-shoulder with us, as the menace of Saddam is removed for all time. Best regards, Byron.

I used the contact us button. Will let you know what kind of response I get, if any at all. It'll probably be a picture of a hand with the middle finger pointed upward.

Sent this:
The government of the USA may forget your turning your back on us after we were attacked, but neither I, my children or my grandchildren ever will.

Large bold black print with a 1" wide or greater outline should help emphasize your point if you want to use the fax machine.

*Please* tell me you faxed those to the French embassy...

Does anyone have the proposed WTC design with 4 buildings, one being much taller than the rest?
I'd love to fax that one to the frogs.

Maybe a good ol' fashioned rotten egging.
Drive by egging. Fun and would doubtless get some press.
