There is only one thing I can think of that has Chirac this desperate. I think there's proof positive somewhere that France was directly involved in September 11.I can think of another. What if terrorists or Iraqis told the French there is an atomic bomb hidden in Paris?
Not that I am defending Chirac in any way -- he is despicable.

>>"FRANCE owns most of our record companies" 'Course most of the "artists" are pushing the leftist agenda.
France also own Tomson Consumer Products. Meaning: RCA, PROSCAN, GE.
No more Frog electronics for this boy. Sony only.
Thomson Leading brands
Our brands' powerful personalities ensure worldwide presence for Thomson, both in the consumer and professional market. Specific identities and market positioning of the brands underline the strength and unity of the group.
# In the Americas, Thomson markets the RCA, and G.E. consumer electronics brands, enabling the company to offer video, audio, and communications products that address all marketing channels, from basic to advanced.
# In Europe, Thomson markets its products mainly under the THOMSON brand.
# In Asia, Thomson markets THOMSON, RCA and G.E. consumer electronic brands, enabling the group to offer video, audio and communication products that address local marketing needs.
In addition to its well-established consumer electronic brands, Thomson, through its recently acquired - Technicolor brand, gives content providers, broadcasters, network operators and advertisers the digital building blocks required to deploy electronic entertainment services. Technicolor has evolved as the number one processor of motion-picture film to become the world's largest independent manufacturer and distributor of DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, CD Audio and videocassettes.

No, I think France was involved. I'm finding a lot of stuff now that I'm looking. Look here:

FRENCH AIRFLIGHT INTO BAGHDAD
At a time when Iraq continues to defy the UN sanctions regime -- and will not even allow a UN team to inspect the humanitarian conditions in Iraq -- France, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has allowed a flight to Iraq in blatant violation of UN sanctions resolutions. The flight was done in clear defiance of the UN and its established procedures. We fail to understand why the French government, which has discussed this at the United Nations for some time, could not wait 12 hours to gain sanctions committee approval of the flight. We are raising this matter at the UN Security Council today.

I've thought the same thing for weeks. Saddam could have something really big waiting for our troops. If France knows this and says nothing, God help France.

The FRENCH are surrendering , this time, BEFORE THE FIGHT EVEN STARTS!

Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said at the weekend his ministry had identified more than 2,000 Jewish and Muslim buildings to protect. Yeah, like the Jews are going to attack Moslem buildings (i.e. Mosques). This is only laying the groundwork for the Froggies to say "well, there were so many Moslem sites to guard that we didn't have enough police for the Jewish sites. We're shocked, shocked that all of this terrorism against the Jews occurred...."

France is hidding something, and they are so DESPERATE. I think we are going to find out soon, what exactly they are afraid we will find in IRAQ.

Fine. We'll even tow their leaky aircraft carrier back for them.

picky, picky Yes, but it suggests that the story is almost certainly false (even if it is amusing), since it seems extremely unlikely that someone in the military actually familiar with the location of the base (let alone someone stationed there) would confuse the two.
