not only is France not in our war on terror anyway, but a national review article speculated today that France is using Islamic extremism as their weapon against the superpower US...

The Franco-German strategy was based on using Arab and Islamic extremism and terrorism as the weapon of choice, and the United Nations as the straitjacket for blocking a decisive response from the United States.

please tell me you're yanking my chain. if true this is a clarifying moment--even for people whose gums are floating in anti-war bile. this could actually backfire on CHIRAQ.
this hits the average jane/joe where they live. the avg american if they disagreed with their brother "picking" a fight with an SOB (even if the SOB was their major business partner) might not (yeah right) help their brother fight him, but would surely not delay the inevitable fight to a time that would be less advantageous for their brother. also, arming the SOB in the run up to the fight is a universal no-no. in addition, when a posse of similar SOBs fan out to kill your brother once and for all, you don't say, well if you fight that SOB, I will let them kill you and go scarf down truffles and a nice chianti.
