KPFK Radio - the truth comes out.

So I heeded a suggestion made by a peacepuke to listen to 90.7 KPFK here in Los Angeles. I encourage everyone else within earshot to do the same. And I urge you to call. Here was my experience.

Their one host explicitly stated that he does not think people should support the troops because they are doing the wrong thing, and why would you support someone like that.

The next host named Don claimed after a call about supporting our troops that he assures the audience that the entire staff supports the troops. Obviously, nobody there listens to their own radio station.

These people at this station are reprehensible. These people live off of our tax dollars because there's no way they could make it on their own merits.

I strongly suggest you call and get our message on that radio. Flood the phone lines. We have to push our message out on all fronts. And if anyone knows how to get the funding pulled from this station, please let me know.

Oh, I forgot to mention the phone number... and you know why?

They never announced it! They said they want people who oppose their point of view to call but never gave out the number!

I think its just coincidence, but if I wanted to make it look like nobody opposed my radio station, I'd invite the opposition who probably never listens to call and then not give out the number because the true believers already know it and can call anytime.

I did turn this on the other day.

The latest as of yesterday was that Iraq did not set the oil fires last time in 1991.

They are nuts.

It's a Pacifica station. They are so far to the left they make NPR look conservative.

It's a pacifica station. Listener supported. I think there are seven of them in the chain. Marxist/communist/socialist to the core

KPFK which is a Pacifica station gets no tax $$$. They are far left and founded in the 30's by pacifists. In the 60's and later they were extremely liberal. Some would claim that they were to the left of the Communists. They've moved a little to the right in recent years. Now Bernie Saunders is moderate and not a conservative.

If you aren't in LA they have a number of stations around the US. KPFA in San Francisco, WBAI in New York. I don't remember the other stations in DC and Houston. You can listen to them on the internet. Go to Pacfica.org and then to the individual station.

I disagree with them on most issues, but I do listen to them. Be prepared to be shocked.

They do receive tax dollars. They are partially funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Yuck, you have a strong stomach. I could never tolerate hate radio! I know KPFA; my mother listens to it constantly and believes every word of it.

Houston station is KPFT 90.1 right between KSBJ 89.3(Contemp. Christian) and KJIC 90.5 (Traditional Gospel). It is hard to listen to.

Easy to see that Pacifica recieved about $1.3 million of your tax dollars from the CPB. Check out the Pacifica web site (go to page 13 of this pdf file) go to page 13

If you have time, you can go to the CPB page and cross reference this.

Pacifica is a 501c3 charity. They are prohibited in their political speech (the same as churches are).

I posted a thread a month ago about Houston's Pacifica station (and even included the IRS site's information about 501C3s).

We need to take down these political organizations that don't play by the rules (they had an internal coup to reduce the amount of music on the air and increase the amount of socialist drivel).

Two sides of the dial tackle war- Talk radio stations air opposing views (Houston, 501C3 violation?)

Yeah, KPFK, government sponsered malign leftist nihilism. A few years back, around '92, a friend of mine and myself looked up the reach of its broadcasting frequency in some radio broadcasting handbook. It had the most powerful broadcasting capacity reach of any station in the Los Angeles area. I wonder if that's still true...
