I personally know a guy born into the Islamic religion, who was found in a church in Jordan, and beaten severely for months, until he would say that Allah is God, and Mohammed is his last Prophet. So do not expect decent treatment from Islamics, for it just will not happen.
This is an evil bunch with no kindness in them, and they do not even understand the meaning of the word. They are brainwashed.

I didn't see the coverage in question, nor do I wish to.
From what I hear, the point made in the cartoon is an apt one, though.

I've seen some of the stills - pixelated for anonymity. They're pretty bad.

They are nothing more than a bunch of GD vultures. Makes me want to have a few JDAMs dropped in Afghanistan, and veer off course to some Madrassas in Pakistan.

That and have a bunch of covert types sent out to assassinate those funders of the manipulation of "the Arab street".

Our problem is this: Which do the muslims of Iraq hate more? The Husseini regime? Or the invading infidels from Ameriqa?

Some things are instructive. I see them and get pissed off at the bad guys. Others see them and are sickened by the cruelty to decent American fighting men - which is understandable. All too many in this country, though, see them and quake in their boots, and use them to justify never taking a stand. I don't know how to educate that last group.

Sunday morning, you couldn't have avoided the images unless you stayed off the internet completely.

I stumbled onto the images on Drudge--there they were--BAM!

Some folks here had posted screen captures of the live POWs by 10:30am or so, but they were removed pending notification of next of kin.

The one on Drudge that had the grinning, one-eyebrowed young sh!tass (sorry, this just gives me the potty mouth) leering over some of the bodies made me more angry than anything.

I did just that...
Mrs. CD said I needed to take a little break after all the rally planning. :)

I did hear about the "grinning, one-eyebrowed young sh!tass".
I hope our guys cap his ass before it's over.

Put me in the "sickened by the cruelty" group.
I still remember the images of American soldiers being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu.

It makes me want to nuke every last one of their ilk in Iraq into a parking lot of sand, fused into glass.

Our problem is this: Which do the muslims of Iraq hate more? The Husseini regime? Or the invading infidels from Ameriqa?

I think it depends on which group of Muslims you ask:

'All the peasants were cheering us, even the soldiers'

We have seen no resistance to speak of and no hostility -- simply, ordinary people standing by the road and, as we drove, increasing numbers of Iraqi soldiers.

"Praise be to Allah," many of them shouted, relieved at being finally delivered from more than two decades of Saddam Hussein's tyranny.

"I wasn't surprised at the reception we got," Sgt. Pares said.

"It is what I expected here. Whatever the world thinks of what we are doing, the Iraqi people view us as a force that is freeing them.

"I saw a lot of kids and I started to think of my own kids back at home. God Bless America for giving our children a chance. These kids were so thin. They sure didn't get their share of Iraq's oil money."

Clearly, most of these people are very happy. However, it must be said they are Shia Muslims. The area we have been travelling through is predominantly Shia. Just after the first Gulf War, it was the centre of an armed uprising against the Iraqi leader, which was put down with terrible bloodshed.

Saddam Hussein is a Sunni and a northerner. The Sunni strongholds lie around Baghdad and to the north.

When a camera is present at the time of capture, such as our roving news crews, it is a legitimate news event. When the event is staged, it is in violation of the Geneva convention as it violates the privacy and dignity of the soldier among other issues.

Same with casualties with the roving news crews. The other photos you saw of the Gulf War casualties were after the cease fire. You're probably thinking of the highway of death. Such videos are shown from a historical perspective.

Anyway in short, that's the big deal.
