The Baseball Hall of Fame president has pulled the plug on a 15th-anniversary celebration of the movie "Bull Durham" because of anti-war criticism by co-stars Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.

Dale Petroskey sent a letter to Robbins and Sarandon this week, telling them the festivities April 26-27 in Cooperstown had been called off.

He's a Mets fan. That spoke volumes enough for me. Bull Durham is a great baseball movie. The actors in that movie (Costner, Robbins, and Saradon) leave something to be desired.

"I am sorry that you have chosen to use baseball and your position at the Hall of Fame to make a political statement," Robbins wrote.

". . . I wish you had, in your letter, saved me the rhetoric and talked honestly . . ."

Robbins is only sorry when someone uses his position to make a political statement when that statement is in opposition to Robbins' position. After that big lie, he chides others to talk honestly, What a friggin maroon.

He said he did not realize baseball was "a Republican sport."

I wish you had, in your letter, saved me the rhetoric and talked honestly about your ties to the Bush and Reagan administrations."

Robbins unknowingly puts to rest any doubts that the anti-war movement is not about the war. It is simply an opportunity to criticize the President, Republicans and anyone else who disagrees with the left's agenda.

Hey, I never realized that blatant stupidity was a virtue in Hollywood.

I guess we all learned something.

You belong with the cowards and idealogues in a hall of infamy and shame.

Ya think he was talking to himself in the mirror?

While our men and women are fighting, and dying to bring freedom to an oppressed people, these simpletons are truamatized if their bedsheets aren't changed everyday.

They will never understand who the real heroes of this country are. (Like you!)

History will bear this out.

Thank you for your service to this great country.

A heartfelt salute.

Semper Fi!

When Robbins does it,..it's free speech.

When others do it,...it's "politicizing the event".

I have no doubt that if Robbins and Sarandon had been given a forum, they would've made anti-Bush rhetoric on the premise of "free speech" ,....or would that have been 'politicizing the event'?

How It Works.

High profile Leftist makes public statement.

We the people react to statement, in some cases expressing strong opposition, up to and including boycott of goods and services.

High profile Leftist unable to see past their own inflated sense of self long enough to realize what they said or did was a sub-Stupid resort to one of the following ego/face saving lies stating:

A) "Stop infringing on my 1st Amendment rights" [by excercising yours]

B) "I'm being physically treatened" [someone sent me an email with the "F" word in it.]

C) "You are blinded by your own ideology making you incapable of free thought." [classic psychological projection]

In any case, the jig is up. In the old days this stuff mattered to the audience, now I believe it only matter to them and their inner circles and perhaps some mind numbed fans, but then again how significant is the opinion of someone who worships a clown.

Laughable. Robbins and Sarandon would've taken potshots at Bush at this event. You can count on it.

Kevin Costner also stars...I saw the movie and like it for the most part. Costner was the star, susie and timmi helped him by playing an idiot and a slut.
