Bubba looks like he is trying to shove Babs away, while thinking "Not here! My wife is in the audience."

I do wonder, though, whether these calls for economic retaliation undercut the very freedoms we hold most dear.

We are not boycotting, It's really the only method we have of expressing our own free speech.

Do we believe that we're a stronger society if everyone feels free to speak their minds, or is there an impulse to chill the speech of those with differing views?

We are totally free to speak our minds. We are also totally free to criticize, ostracize, or marginalize those whose opinions we disagree with.

True story--a Jewish friend of mine was sitting at a bar in a restaurant (with his Jewish wife) waiting for a table to open up. The owner, a Greek (I know, what are the odds of that?), was exasperated by a table of four Jewish women who were giving him a hard time. On his way back to the kitchen to make a piece of steak less well-done, he made an anti-Semitic remark, loud enough for those at the bar to overhear. My friend and his wife walked out and never went back. When I was told, I boycotted the place, as did many of my friends, Jews and Christians alike. As far as I can see, free speech is still allowed, as are the consequences of such speech.

The author of the article tangentially and negatively cited McArthy. The one thing that he didn't point out was that there ACTUALLY WERE Communist sympthasizers within the Hollywood elite.

Of course, one could make the same aruement now. I have asserted that myself. However, more and more, I am just thinking that they are just stupid.

That doesn't make them any less dangerous...in fact, maybe it makes them more dangerous? Couple their popularity with their stupidity and that it is a molotov cocktail for inflaming the ignorant masses with asinine punditry.

Again, these people are (mostly) high school drop-outs...what should we really expect?

Now, we look at people like Terry McAuliffe and the Clintons who know what they are saying is not good for the country. They know that what they are espousing goes against the precepts and foundations of this country. But, they do it anyway. And, they are in actual positions where they have the power to affect policy...that is what's scary.

That is why the liberals and the demonRAT party must be stopped DEAD in their tracks. If we don't, they will be the downfall of this country. Think about it, everything that the liberal left has done has been an effort failure and a parasite on the body of our country.

It is truly time for a conservative revolution. And, in the end, the Hollywood actors and actresses will be nothing more than high-school drop-outs with no ratins at the box office.

So, according to all of these whiners, we aren't allowed to refuse patronage of people with whom we disagree, for whatever reason. We cannot challenge them, or question their motives because we would be intolerant. However, they can call our president a dictator, a baby-killer, a war-monger, and generally attempt to destroy his character with lies. Only, they are exercising their rights of free speech. Do I have that correctly?

>> Charlton Heston has been widely derided for his work with the National Rifle Association.

Did the Democrats hate him more for that, or for his work with Martin Luther King, Jr.?

A victim of public education.

I do wonder, though, whether these calls for economic retaliation undercut the very freedoms we hold most dear. This idiot does not understand that the "freedom" is from the gov't: it must not interfere with one's speech. This does not mean that the neighbor cannot.

These Web site operators have heard some of these criticisms and are quick to assert that they're not guilty of McCarthyism. Again, McCArthy was a gov't representative, not a private citizen, like the site operators.

All he sees that they speak against him and he doesn't like it.

"I do wonder, though, whether these calls for economic retaliation undercut the very freedoms we hold most dear." The freedom to make millions as a pathological narcissist is no doubt very dear to this pathetic sycophant, but I don't see it anywhere in the Constitution.

What a relief to see some of the actors already on my "Avoid Seeing These Actors in Anything List" just because they are lousy actors and/or annoying in general.

Reminds me of an old joke:

Four Westchester women come into Manhattan for a Wednesday Broadway matinee and go to a restaurant for lunch before the show.

During the meal the waiter comes over and says: "Ladies, is anything all right?"

I am so bummed out that three of the lead actors in The Lord of the Rings are on that list. Didn't they bother to read the books?

These idiots are so mentally impaired they don't know the difference between the government going after you and the people deciding they don't want to spend their money on you.

The problem with the left is they have lost the ability to think clearly. Everything becomes muddled.
