Freep Foxnews! I'm getting sick of this!

Posted on 04/27/2003 4:50:47 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55

I've e-mailed them once, and it doesn't seem to be getting their attention.
Julian Phillips on the weekend Fox and Friends is blatantly shoving his liberal crap down the throats of the viewers.

Not only that, but he keeps calling our President just "Bush" Here is an example of what he has been saying...

"Bush needs to be held accountable if we don't find these weapons of mass destruction. I understand that they are hard to find, but thats the only reason Bush went in there in the first place."

He said over and over virtually the same thing yesterday, and I e-mailed Foxnews, and nothing has changed.

Not only that, but he keeps calling our President just "Bush" Here...

As opposed to the hundreds of threads and thousands of posts here, that refer to Bush as Bush.

"The superficiality of journalism is illustrated by the orgy of coverage of Jessica Lynch's rescue--a delightful story, but in context of the moment not an important one."

No doubt that Jessica's story went beyond the pale of reasonable media coverage; but it seemed to reflect to me, anyway, that the media perhaps underestimating it's audience (!) felt compelled to put a 'down-home' story and 'face' to this war. . .and the competition began for that audience. . .

That said, and presidential titles aside, cannot imagine, 'life without Fox News!'

The question is, "how will the French repair the damage to their relationship with us?"

The @$$-kissing begins in 15 minutes.

Fox & Friends is growing to become more a monument to the quota system of Affrimative Action than an informative factual presentation!

Hey Leprecaun9, your stipes are showing. What does affirmative action have to do with this thread? You are injecting race where its not a factor.

Are you serious??

Dead serious, isn't that what this thread is all about.

Some black guy had questions about Bush's stated reason for invading Iraq and ConservativeMan55 gets his panties in a knot and starts screaming bloody murder.

Do you think this is adult behavior?

Thanks for this post...just wrote regarding what happens when you disrespect our President (i.e. Dipsy Chicks) and told them a few mentions of your opinion is enough.

There is no Constituitional requirement to show respect for the President. He is not the sovereign, we the people are. BTW, I bashed Klintoon and wanted him in prison, so didn't show him any respect whatsoever.

The objections to Julian Phillips have nothing to do with his race. In case you hadn't noticed, there are other minorities on Fox and no one objects to them in the least. There are also plenty of liberals on Fox.

The issue is one of respect and competence.

I love FNC. I can watch TV again. But, I also think that Julian should be free to speak without us interjecting our own corrections on him. If I had not heard him say what he did this morning about the French, how would I KNOW his slant? I WANT to know the slant, and watch it shot down, to know where he's really coming from. At least he's not screaming his views like Hannity and Colmes.

That said, I do expect protocol when it comes to titles. President Bush, good, Bush not good, Mr. Bush, not good.
Former President Clinton, okay, not President Clinton. It inflames me to hear anyone say President Clinton...HE'S FORMER PRESIDENT...and even THAT makes me SICK!

Two things come to mind. I am sure the bosses at Fox see that. Number two, when that dumb SOB is on, I do not watch Fox. The bosses can also understand that.

Most anchor-persons, talking heads, whatever, are idiots.

Example?

The first morning of the 1994 Los Angeles earthquake (which I lived through), a news station helicopter was flying over Burbank in the San Fernando Valley. A huge fire was burning a building and sending up a large column of thick black smoke, going up hundreds of feet into the sky.

The "news babe", riding in the helicopter, actually said the following:

Bob, I'm looking at what appears to be a large plume of black smoke...

Really? Are you sure about that you dumb-ass? Appears to be? Appears to be? What the hell else could it be?

Consider this. A person so terrified of "going out on a limb" with an assertion of fact, that even though they're staring directly at a large column of black churning smoke, would say; "I'm looking at what appears to be..."

And just last night, a cable news "anchor person" said; "I grew up living in a farm." IN a farm. Really? Let me get this straight. You "grew up" IN a farm? What part of the farm were you IN? How did you get out of the farm (that you were "in")?

Get rid of the TV. The place for news is talk radio and the internet.

Everyone relax fox has been very fair and balanced. So one of their weekend dudes is a flaming lib who care just remember how many times Steve E.D. and Brian have raked libs over the coals when they spew their lies during the week.

I agree, RedSox....ConservativeMan, I don't much care for Julian's opinions, either; they stand out as liberal. However, the fact still remains, his OPINIONS DO STAND OUT on Fox. There are probably, in Fox's viewership, some liberals/moderates who watch Fox because of that.

When the non-conservative viewer has the opportunity to say to him/herself: "Hey, I agree with [Julian]," but then must listen to the conservatives dispute [Julian] in a logical and convincing manner, they may be persuaded, over time, to change their thinking. It may well be non-conservatives are more willing to tune into Fox BECAUSE there are liberal comments/views/editorializing. This is a good thing. Fox is the liberal's classroom into learning what's wrong with liberalism.
