The Open Line and The NorthStar Network Launch Counter-Offensive
The NorthStar Network joins our friends from ”The Open Line” on New York City’s 98.7 KISS-FM in asking our readers to call and write the management of the MSNBC cable network to lodge a complaint over right-wing talk show host Joe Scarborough’s attack on actor, human rights activist, and our brother, Danny Glover. Scarborough has used the airwaves to initiate a campaign to have MCI fire Glover as its spokesperson due to the actor’s position against the war in Iraq.
This is just the latest use of the airwaves by conservatives in the media to demean the Black community. In a desperate move to increase its ratings, MSNBC has embraced conservatives who espouse racist points of view in an effort to compete with rival Fox News Channel. MSNBC is a joint venture of NBC, whose corporate parent is General Electric, and Microsoft. We encourage you to write and call to demand that MSNBC’s management direct Joe Scarborough to cease his assault upon the integrity of one of our nation’s most conscientious artists and one of the Black community’s strongest and most progressive voices.
You can send a form letter to Erik Sorenson, President of MSNBC, at Dear Mr. Sorenson. The letter should be e-mailed to Mr. Sorenson at erik.sorenson@msnbc.com or to Jeremy Gaines, Vice President of Communications, at jeremy.gaines@msnbc.com. When you click on the letter:
1. Click on "E-mail This Article". 2. Simply put the e-mail address in the "Send this story to" box. 3. You can type your name in the "Add your own personal message" box. 4. Put your e-mail address in the "Enter your e-mail address" box. 5. At the "What would you like to send?" prompt, click "Full Text of Story".
You can also print the letter, sign it, and fax it to the number for Mr. Sorenson listed below.

Joe equally attacked, the Blixie Chicks, Bagdad Susan, etc. but this is being turned around by liberals, so surprised!
Danny Glover didn't make racist remarks, he made anti-American remarks. He blamed our country for 911, while lauding Castro!
Scarborough's voting record in 7 years in Congress has proved he supports human rights.
Joe was reduced to arguing with this Mtumbi guy. So any ideas who we Freep, what we do, please help Freepers, we can't let sleeping dogs lie! We have to counterattack the Freeper way!

I am writing to demand that the management of MSNBC apologize for the unfair and patently racist attack launched against actor and humanitarian Danny Glover on-air by Joe Scarborough. The manner in which MSNBC has given license to the most reactionary elements of the far right suggests that your network, and NBC, is so preoccupied with surpassing the Fox News Channel that it is willing to risk offending the Black community.
I join with others in calling for Mr. Scarborough’s reprimand and for an acknowledgement by MSNBC for its lapse in judgment in allowing the segment to air.

He said himself just the other day that he is likely the only news anchor on MSNBC that is supportive of Bush, and also his acts as President.
I thought for certain he was going to be canned over his comments.
For a station that is not in cahoots, they ask for support for Glover on the radio website:And guess what when you click to help Danny, it goes right back to Northstar, hmm...grrrr.

See, I don't get it, we are not white "Wearing sheets" right wing nuts against Glover, this is a black radio station. We are pro-American against traitorous remarks.
But these upstarters will try to get him fired, especially with Joe's moral character, knowing he did nothing wrong, will not give them the apology they are demanding!
