I think we will see that age go down over the next couple of decades. A little bird (actually, an economist) tells me that the Boomer Generation is probably a one shot deal and that future generations will be substantially more conservative.

LOL...in this extended adolescence times I have jokingly refered to 25 as the magical age of adulthood. Apparently I was wrong.

You grow up real fast personally and politically when you (a) realize that you are no longer responsible only for yourself, but for someone else in the context of family; and (b) start paying REAL taxes...

Amen! My mama starting telling me when I was 13 years old the ways of the world. I knew early on that she expected me to get a 4 year college degree (not 5 years) and find a job upon graduation. No coming back home to mommy once I graduated.
It was never an issue with me - I knew what to expect and planned accordingly. Shoot, I didn't even want to come home after college - I had my own life to lead!
So now, I've started telling my own 8 year old the ways of the world....

I like the puppy dog look for "bedroom games" assistance...I will have to try that one next time....I agree, whining never seems to work. Most of the time I use the "pest" method....you know just like the kids, "are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet?" eventually Mrs. irish guard either gives in or gives me the boot. Either way I am happy, becuase if she gives in, well you know....and if she gives me the boot, I just turn on ESPN and ignore everything and everyone else.
