New Fox talk show has a Vester'd interest
Linda Vester, a regular anchor on the Fox News Channel's daytime rotation, is getting her own gig.
She'll begin as the host of "Dayside with Linda Vester," today at 1 p.m., putting her at the helm of the network's first studio audience program.
Think: CNN's now-canceled "Talkback Live" done the Fox way.
Call 1-800-FOXTKTS for tickets.
Vester, a former MSNBC anchor, will do the show from Fox's brand-new studio on W.47th St., in the former home of the Dish of Salt restaurant.

I didn't realize how smart she was. She speaks 3 languages including fluent Arabic.
Am anxious to see the show and no doubt at all it'll be stimulating.

I've always liked her, too. She seems to have a good grasp on issues so I think the format will suit her well.

I never watched it, so I don't know. I have loved her on Fox. She has really gone after some of the Lefties.
To: BeerIsGood
Wonder why she changed so much. Geraldo has also changed.
Greg can be sent to the recyle bin

You and me both remember, also Bridget Quinn. Vester speaks entirely too fast. They also use Lis Wiehl as a legal advisor, and she is well-known for supporting the Clinton side during the House impeachment hearings; I can clearly remember, or could view a tape of, her sidling up to to Julian Epstein during news conferences.

There are folks who will do anything for money. I'm surprised how Greta has changed, but would prefer she keep David Gergen from the lineup--why anyone would want to listen to a Clinton advisor is beyond me.

I really think Vester is a good reporter, however IMHO the format reminds me of a recently cancelled CNN talk show. Aside from the network it was on, I never thought too much of audience participation shows. Personally, though, I hope her show does well.

Lets hope she can use that intellect to confront liberal audience members in their flawed logic.
TalkBack Live would have worked, if CNN had not SHAMELESSLY stacked its live audiences with fringe leftists like Donohue did. Wait, no one else would have gone to see Donahue, never mind. We can rest assured FOX's audiences will be alot less receptive to liberal cliched guests and the show will be watchable.

Wow! That was a surprise, when Linda Vester told Cal Thomas she could speak Arabic. She lived in Egypt for a few years.

Well, she is going to have to slow here speaking and speak in english on Friday, May 30. I will be in the audience. Will try to wear my Stars & Stipes shirt if they let me. If not I'll have my Bush2004 sticker or pin on.

I'm watching the show right now. Linda is doing a good job with the audience and guests. Already better than Talk Back Live ever was.

"

She likes Vester, but Dish of Salt was her favorite restaurant when we lived in New York. Fifty bucks each for a Chinese meal only marginally better than the "Hunan House" and brethren on every corner! Ahh, expense accounts.

By the way, I suspect with the unpredictability of a live audience we're going to see more of Linda's patented eye-rolling technique.
Don't get me wrong, I like her, but I do find that a bit distracting.

I hate this format. Daytime talk shows like this usually make me want to wretch. I don't see this show sticking around for long.
To: dcretiree
I like her also. Not too impressed with the new show, however, but I'll give it some more time to develop.
I tune into FNC during the day precisely because it offers a fast-paced stream of breaking news and reports related to the major stories of the day. Interrupting that addictive flow of news to dwell for an hour on a single-issue that's presented in a stale talk show format which is (mobile moderator with microphone, live audience interaction, a row of panelists) indistinguishable from every other talk show on TV just doesn't do it for me.
Even as much as I like FNC and Vester, I'll probably end up tuning in elsewhere during DaySide.

I saw only small part today as I had Dr appt. I don't see "mean girls" as a good subject for debate, since it isn't really anything new--young mothers have been killing their children, in recent years, at an almost epidemic proportion--why wouldn't they hurt another teen or adult?
