Thanks. The translation seemed fairly accurate to me too, but since I'm not a professional . . . . :-D
Both the original and the translation are pretty blunt.
And I agree with you that some editor got his mitts on that headline -- that's what they do, fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, editors gotta write headlines.
I don't know what gives with Michael and the Middle East. Otherwise he seems to be a fairly rational young German. Is there an Arab problem in Germany now (as in France) that might cause him to put his fingers in his ears and go "la-la-la" in the hopes that the ones in his country won't do anything to him?

Is there an Arab problem in Germany now (as in France)Fortunately, no. Not on the same scale. There are far more Turks than Arabs in Germany, and they are much more resistant to the mullahs than Arabs are.
Most Germans are simply concluding that (a) the Arabs are never going to accept Israel, (b) exploding Arab populations and declining European birthrates will inevitably make Europe more Arab, and (c) the Arabs know no limits in their willingness to hurt anyone siding with Israel.
Additionally, a smaller but still large number of Germans, as someone whose name I cannot recall right now put it, "will never forgive the Jews for Auschwitz". Any use of force by the IDF immediately is turned into "See? The Jews are no better than the Nazis!"
So, the Israelis can die. Then they rationalize by constructing a moral equivalency argument. Their conscience is clean.

Goodbye Marianne? No more Laetitia? Damn ...you ask a lot of a man...
Don't worry, Laetitia is Corsican, which means she's probably more Italian then French anyway. I think that we can make an exception for her. :-)

It's actually quite confusing. I have her born in Corsica and raised in Normandy. I have her born in Normandy and raised in Corsica. I have her born in Normandy and discovered on a beach in Corsica.
Either way....we'll call her Corsican or Norman....for sure left over from Henry's Aquitane adventures.

Didn't he write some Civil War novels?
I don't know. I think he did, but I'm not sure. I've read his books War in 2020 and Red Army. Both were very good.

And after the events of September 11th, 2001, we will not wait to be attacked, but will strike pre-emptively wherever we believe it to be necessary-and we shall do so without ever again asking Europe's permission.
______
Beleve it!
Thanks for the flag to this excellent rant, nutmeg.
