Maybe contemporary Iranians would like to repudiate The Cult of the Arabian Moongod and return to the greater wisdom of their Persian past--a counterrevolution. (Anything would be better than what they've got now.)

Fascinating website with many beautiful things--but what is the website all about; what's a "Marvast"?
To: freedom44
Why all the publicity? Is he running for public office somewhere?

Great post. You never now what you're going to find on Free Republic!
Slightly off topic... About 20 years ago I was not accepted for an expedition searching for the lost army of Cambyses. The plan was to scan possible routes through the Western Desert between the Bahariya and Siwa Oases with camel-mounted ground penetrating radar. I'm serious! I later heard that this expedition was not successful. There have been subsequent reports of petroleum surveys turning up possible leads. This is one of the great mysteries of history; do you know of anything of significance to add?

Maybe you should explain why this belongs under News/Activism.

This is Iran ping about a historical figure mentioned in the Bible 22 times as savior of the Jews.
Now if you're an anti-Semite, anti-Biblical and anti-Persian history person we don't care, but allow those of us interested in the freedom movement in Iran, Biblical history, Jewish history and Persian history to enjoy relevant posts.
Now unless you have something relevant to say--buzz off!

Are you an archaeologist? Almost, but my interest was Aegean, five or six hundred years earlier.
On a long walk to the bursar's office to pay tuition, I decided I had been poor far too long. Maybe if I had taken the car I'd not have had time to make that choice. Fortunately, I had skills useful outside academia.
