I'm a New York Jets season ticket holder

Nothing to add. I just wanted everyone to see this again...just in case they missed it the first time.

Since the studios get all of the receipts the first couple of weekends, they want to open really strong and make back the production cost in those first 2 weekends. They open wide and are careful not open against another strong film that could split the audience.

If the film hasn't found it's audience in the first couple of weeks, the advertising budget and studio promotions are often pulled out to be put into the "next" big thing.
