I read the article you posted. Then I had to take a shower. I've been on more than a few cruise ships. I've seen how people get loose when they're away from home, in the sun, drinking rum concoctions with umbrellas in them. Every ship, every resort, is stocked with a supply of relatively clean, relatively intelligent members of the opposite sex (in this case, males).
Unless the women referred to in this article are looking for danger, rather than looking for sex, this behavior does not make any sense.

I started going to Negril back in the late 70's. Less touristy. I stopped in the early 90's. It pretty much has been over run by this crap.
Ahh...the Sunset's @ Ricks! Churella Inn and Drum Bay Cove were 2 nice places to stay. Now 7 mile beach looks like an endless pimp store.

I know a girl who did this in Jamaica, right after she graduated college and before she went to grad school. I wasn't sure what to make of it at the time, and why and how she was telling me seemed to be more the issue than what she actually did.
There was definitely a racist element to it, at least for her.
Needless to say, I haven't tried to get any affection from her since then(it's been a couple years) and we rarely talk. I just keep thinking "third world". Smaaaaaaaart.

When all the jobs are gone and the dollar collapses because consumers can't buy anymore, this may be the American job of the future. Rich Asians will find this country a tourist bargain, and we will see a huge jump in tourism.
All you programmers and database admins get to the gym and start looking good for those Indian and Chinese women.
