Sorry - gays are not the only ones spreading this disease. There are many heterosexuals who have it, who spread it, there are many children.

Once something like this gets going - it creeps into every part of society. That is why my statement.

I'm not being snippy. Aids is more than a "gay" problem and to think otherwise is to deny that non-gays can get infected and spread the disease.

It is a horrible disease and needs to be stopped. Complaining about gays and blaming gays and thinking that any Aids effort is to help gays is ridiculous.

You, sir, are extremely ill-informed. You would be wise to read up on the incidence and causes of AIDS transmission before you expose your ignorance any further. You are only making yourself look foolish. Everyone who reads and comments on these topics is well-informed and sees your transparent lack of knowledge. Please, read before you reveal your complete lack of grasp of the topic.

P.S. If AIDS was spreading equally among normal people, then I would think maybe you are right. But since mostly homosexuals have it and spread it, (because anal sex is an excellent way to spread it, and because homosexuals are wildly promiscuous compared to the vast majority of heterosexuals), therefore you are wrong.

GRIDS is a horrible disease. The cure for it is to stop homosexual behavior and let the reservoir die out.

GRIDS consumes a far greater share of medical research dollars than it deserves. Dollars that should go to serious disease threats such as heart disease and cancer. Cure the things that are not self-inflicted and that will help the most people.

Since GRIDS is primarily a 'gay' disease seeking the cure only helps 'gays', not normal people. Since they infected themselves voluntarily, they should deal with the problem themselves

These two are not in contradiction. The article does not say "gays" are the only ones spreading the disease.

What is does say is that a group who is 2% of the population is responsible for nearly 90% of the new infections. So the proper statement would be that in this case, homosexuals account for nearly all the spread of the disease.

Instead of "positive gay role models" we need realistic homosexual role models - people who callously engage in behavior that kills them and their friends while expecting others to pay for it.

That's a misrepresentation of what freeper Kevin Curry said. Here's some links on homosexuality and health issues you may find informative. Some of the links, such as links #2 and #9 document some gays actually seek out HIV and some seek to give it away.

Clancy....stats can be read anyway one wants too, but the bare naked truth is just about the surest way to get HIV is to have anal sex with someone who has it, or to use the same needle as someone who has it...

anal sex is an unnatural sexual act; the rectal area is not supposed to be assaulted like that day in and day out, and there is an ample supply of blood vessels there that can not take that abuse...(unlike the plain old vagina that also doubles as a birth canal)

I would just take a good guess that there are very few HIV cases truely transferred by wholely hetero partners who have no IV drug abuse in their past....

instead, I think we are seeing drug abuser couples getting the virus from shared needles, then passing it along that way....

Your statements are just silly. To focus on the miniscule number of people who get AIDS due to needle sharing and/or transfusions is to promote the disease by not trying to stop the main cause of it. That being the decision to have a homosexual lifestyle.

Aids is a lifestyle illness. If children are ill it is because they are linked to that lifestyle as innocent as they are.

"Gets going?" This thing has been going, and one fact remains, almost every single person who gets HIV is infected by a person who engages in homosexual behavior. The next largest group infected are IV drug users. The next group most likely to be infected are people who have sex with IV drug users. The only innocent people who get this disease are the babies who are infected by their mothers.
