I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE KNOWN THAT STATE SEN TARTAGLIONE WORKS VERY HARD FOR THE PEOPLE SHE REPRESENTS. SHE IS ALSO A VERY NICE PERSON TOO. SHE GOES BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY TO HELP PEOPLE OUT. I SEND HER AND HER FAMILY MY REGARDS AND PRAYS THAT THE LORD JESUS WOULD HEAL HER SOON. SINCERELY PSALM91

Naw, she hurt her back, would have had to hit herself in the head to knock some sense into her.

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your healing hand would rest upon this injured woman and that You would restore her to health. Thank You that Your Word teaches that you send the rain to fall upon the just and the unjust ... that You make no distinction in bestowing universal blessing. May we be likeminded in prayer, in the name of Jesus, Amen ...

why should we pray for a person who hurts their back when there are many in a life and death situation ? It shouldn't have to be a life or death situation to pray for someone. Everyone can use prayers.

She is a Philadelphia Democrat, and was handed her office by Philadelphia's political hack elite. Her mother, Marge Tartaglione, was a Philadelphia politician and activist for decades. Christine will always vote exactly the way she is told to vote by Vince Fumo and the Philadelphia Democrat machine.

Thanks for the ping- I hope she recovers.

A few extra prayers going up for Christine.
May she recover from her back injury, and may she find her way to the Republican party.

Update on Christine. She's doing well after surgery.
Sen. Tartaglione hurt
in boating accident
State Sen. Christine Tartaglione continues to recover from a boating accident over the Labor Day weekend at the Jersey shore.
Tartaglione (D-2nd dist.) was sitting on a chair in a powerboat on Aug. 30 when the vessel hit the wakes of another boat, according to the New Jersey State Police.
The lawmaker and another passenger, Perry Ann Blessing, were thrown from their chairs and onto the deck of the boat.
Tartaglione, daughter of longtime City Commissioner Marge Tartaglione, was taken to Atlantic City Medical Center before being transported to Temple University Hospital.
As the Times went to press, she remained in serious condition in the intensive care unit with a spinal injury. Shes been in contact with her staff, which has described her as alert and in good spirits.
Blessing has been released from Atlantic City Medical Center. The boat operator, Carlos Matos the senators brother-in-law, office aide and Democratic leader of the 19th Ward was not injured.
The senator has had two back surgeries and is in a lot of pain, according to Mayor John Street, who has visited her twice. She underwent surgery immediately after the accident, then had a successful five-hour operation on Sept. 3.
Remember the Tartaglione family in your prayers, the mayor said.
Senate Minority Leader Robert Mellow called Tartaglione a fighter, adding that the first priority is to make sure she gets better.
Mellow said technology will allow Tartaglione to work on her initiatives, such as safer day-care centers and affordable health coverage for senior citizens.
If she cant make it to the Senate, we can take the Senate to her, he said.
The 2nd Senatorial District Senior Expo, scheduled for Sept. 18 at the JCC David Neuman Senior Center, will go on as planned.
Tartaglione made her first run for office in 1992, losing a bid to unseat state Rep. John Perzel. Two years later, she ousted Republican Sen. Bruce Marks. She handily won re-election in 1998 and 2002.
Tartaglione, who will turn 43 on Sept. 21, serves as minority-party chairwoman of the Labor and Industry Committee. She keeps a low profile in the district and in the Republican-controlled Senate.
As chairwoman of the Democratic State Committee, she was a major backer of state Auditor General Bob Casey Jr. in his losing bid for the Democratic nomination in last years race for governor.
Ed Rendell, a longtime Tartaglione family foe, won the primary and the general election, signaling an end to Tartagliones reign as head of the party.
Rendell has been among those sending messages of encouragement.
Anyone wishing to send a card or letter can mail it to Sen. Christine Tartaglione, 1061 Bridge St., Philadelphia, PA 19124.
