How about this scripture?
Matthew 24:34
The 40 years between this declaration of Christ and the destruction of Israel (in A.D.70) provides the scope of Christ's Davidic reign over Israel (Acts 2:29-31). The idea of a 40 year reign and intermediate period springs from both biblical Scriptures
Maybe the End of the System of things.
Where does it say in that scripture that a generation is 40 years long?
It does not say it.
And no, Biblically, a generation is not necessarily 40 years. What's more, the Greek term genea can equally mean "race."

"Well then why would he give us the Book of Revelation? or the Prophepts in the OT... To keep us in the dark?"
Off hand, I don't recall (or don't know).
But my study of C.S. Lewis taught me that we should live our lives as Christians without the "carrot/stick" motivators - ie. don't do good works to get into Heaven, do good works because its the right thing to do. Prepare your soul for God, not because you think the Final Days are just around the corner, but because you seek his love, unconditionally.
Many people (not you) are fervent in their religion merely b/c they are worry that Judgement is coming and they are afraid God will find them wanting. Thats not what Christianity is about.
Dan is correct. The word translated "generation" in that passage (genea) can also be translated "race." (As in ... Jewish 'race.')
So then if it means race how do you interpet that scripture...
If it means "race," then it might be saying that "this Jewish race won't pass out of existence until all these things are fulfilled."
Well I do try and live everyday the best to my ability as a Christian, but to me if I see an impending storm I don't close the blinds and turn off the T.V and radio because I want to be in the dark when it arrives, I look for signs I don't think GOD thinks we should be blinded to the end times if he does he would not have given us the Bible.
What do you mean by that Pass Out"
the verse says pass...my assumption is that that means "pass away." "pass out of existence" is the same as "pass away."
SO are you saying the passage could imply the destruction of the Jewish people by the term (pass-away)
"Well I do try and live everyday the best to my ability as a Christian, but to me if I see an impending storm I don't close the blinds and turn off the T.V and radio because I want to be in the dark when it arrives"
Me too. I admit I keep an eye out for the signs, but in private, and without letting it affect my practice of my Faith.
"I look for signs I don't think GOD thinks we should be blinded to the end times if he does he would not have given us the Bible."
Agreed. Its just that articles like this one seem to prosyltize from the hellfire and brimstone angle. And I doubt God wants false love based on fear.
I'll have to check my Nostradamus links to verify this.......
1. A generation in the Bible (post-flood) was upwards of 100 years. Now it is around 70.
2. Israel was again formed in 1947 or so. 70 years later, it is 2017. 12 years.
Also, the Bible says the generation that sees those things... meaning the generation of today, not of when It was written. Hence, meaning 70 years, not 100. Where did 40 come from, anyway?
No no no. The book "The Bible Code" suggests 2006. You're a year off... :)
Are you familiar with the prophecy that Yeshua spoke about in Matthew 24:32-34? It is being fulfilled right before our very eyes.
"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that the end is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
A generation in the Bible is 40 years, and most Bible scholars would agree that this prophecy about the "fig tree blossoming" is when Israel recaptured Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War. 1967 plus 40 years = 2007, which is just two years away! A time Yeshua refers to as, "the end is near, right at the door."

"didn't the mormons predict the end of the world"
I don't know, but wouldn't surprise me. Predicting the end of the world is a great way to gain more followers, offering your ministry as the only path to salvation.
