JERUSALEM – Israeli archaeologists have uncovered one of the earliest depictions of a menorah, the seven-branched candelabra that has come to symbolize Judaism, the Israel Antiquities Authority said Friday. The menorah was engraved in stone around 2,000 years ago and found in a synagogue recently discovered by the Sea of Galilee. Pottery, coins and tools found at the site indicate the synagogue dates to the period of the second Jewish temple in Jerusalem, where the actual menorah was kept, said archaeologist Dina Avshalom-Gorni of the Israel Antiquities Authority.

2000 years ago, is not that old for the region.

I’m surprised that a menorah from that era (1 AD) is counted amongst the oldest.

Lesson that should be learned: Don’t screw with God’s people. They don’t play nice if they’re screwed with.

All that is fine, but I don’t believe in any “chosen people” BS.

The liberal Jews are destroying Jewish interests to a greater extent than anyone else, “chosen” or not, it appears.

That’s why God calls the Chosen Ones His “Remnant”—those liberals are in for a BIG surprise someday!

AP writer prolly hasn’t a clue about ancient history. The J schools today are pathetic. AP hires newbies that majored in dope and sex. They don’t even know the end of a gun that the bullet comes out of.

In this undated handout photo made available by the Israeli Antiquities Authority on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, showing an ancient stone engraved with a seven-branched candelabra, or menorah, seen at a synagogue in the northern Israeli town of Midgal, near Tiberias, after archeologists uncovered the carved stone. The menorah was engraved in stone around 2,000-years ago and found in a synagogue recently discovered by the Sea of Galilee and is thought to be one of the earliest depictions of a menorah. 2000 years from now, if archeologist’s dig around the pyramids in Egypt and find a bunch of tourist trash circa 2010, how old would those pyramids be, according to archeology?
