Choking and Pleading for Water as He Dies... This Has Been a Happy Event

Fury at suicide on BBC

A DESPERATELY ill man will be shown on TV choking and begging for water before he dies in a suicide clinic.

The harrowing scenes to be screened by BBC2 on Monday are set to spark outrage.

Millionaire hotelier Peter Smedley, 71, was filmed swallowing a lethal dose of the barbiturate Nembutal - helped down with a praline chocolate.

He gasps for breath. Within a minute his face turns red and he chokes as he pleads for water.

The documentary Choosing To Die shows an "escort" at the Dignitas clinic in Switzerland holding on to Peter as he convulses on a sofa.

His wife of 40 years, Christine, 60, holds his shaking hand.

The staff member tells the camera: "He is losing consciousness, very soon the breathing will stop and then the heart."

After motor neurone disease sufferer Peter dies the Dignitas worker tells Christine she can cry and "let it all out".

Author Sir Terry Pratchett, who made the programme, says to a background of haunting pipe music: "This has been a happy event.

"He died peacefully, more or less in the arms of his wife, quietly."

Sir Terry, an Alzheimer's sufferer and supporter of euthanasia, tells clinic staff he was "impressed".

The camera cuts to snow falling outside the corrugated iron Dignitas house on an industrial estate.

But campaigners Care Not Killing attacked the BBC for its "one-sided" programme.

It’s just their way of implementing Logan’s Run.

Seriously “1984”, “Logan’s Run”, “Brave New World”, “Animal Farm”, et al are just like instruction manuals for these kinds of people.

Kervokian said the worst day of his life was the day he was born.

Most of Kervorkian's victims were not terminally ill.

How about one round in a friend’s large revolver?

Read my other posts and some of the posts of others.

What were the Aztecs doing? Were they trying to convince their people that they needed to die in order to better society? No, but to appease their gods. To me, that is a warped pursuit of the religious impulse that I believe is blue-printed in all of humanity. Yes, it was a horrible mutilation of that yearning, but they didn’t sacrifice with the goal being the elimination of those the state deems a liability to their socialist economic and central-planning ideology, and that is what is at the core of this “assisted homicide” movement started by Dr. Death.

Maybe 10% of the population view the issue as a “right to die” issue. That would be about equivalent to those who believed all the stated goals of the various other Marxist-backed movements from the sixties, such as affirmative action, homosexual equality, feminism, eco-statism, and dissolution of the family.

The regard for human life is one of the tantamount issues that the Marxists have had with Western, Judeo-Christian culture since the mid-19th century. If they can destroy that core, everything else falls into place for them.

As I stated earlier, we are barbaric not in the number of brutal deaths, but in how those who perpetuate the culture of death try to glorify it for the State, just as the Islamofascists pull the pin believing that the 72 virgins they are about to meet are real and better than life itself.

The delusion of the value of human life vs. the value of dying when it is good for the state and when it is for your own good is the crux of this public exhibition.

Modern cars won’t kill you by CO.

A lawnmower will generally do a dandy job, though. Unless the garage has too high a ventilation rate.

I am always amazed by these stories of executions or suicides that are traumatic or painful.

We seem to be able to routinely put dogs and cats “to sleep” without such problems.

Why are humans so different?

what the hell did they give him with the “nembutol”...that drug is a sleeping pill...he should have gone slowly to sleep and then died a few hours later when the overdose worked.

The choking and convulsion suggests they slipped him something else with the nembutol, to make him die faster so they could film the whole thing on tv.

(and sometimes folks who take nembutol don’t die even then...they wake up later. Often cancer patients have a very high threshhold for overdose due to their taking narcotics for pain relief. That is why I suspect they slipped some cyanide or similar poison into the brew).

And the fact that Tv in the UK showed what was in effect a “snuff” film and advertisement for the culture of death is something that horrifies me.

I regret that America is the last champion defender of life because I am not generally impressed with my “fellow American” in the year 2011.

Nembutal overdoses don't work that fast...they slipped him something else in it...

1) Spasms in the throat

2) anxiety

3) color red skin (not blue as one would see in Nembutal overdose)

4) convulsions.

Strychnine does 1 2 and 4 (some of our dogs died when someone laced meat with strychnine).

But the red skin sounds more like cyanide.

So many people have never been told of the hope that is the Person of Jesus Christ.

Many, many people have never been told that there is a way of escape from despair and hopelessness and that way is Jesus Christ. So many people don't know that He is there, desperately wanting to come into the hearts and lives of suffering, hurting people and give them His promise of eternal life, and peace and joy and abundant life and His promise to get His children through any pain and adversity we face in our time here on this fallen, sin-sick earth.

It's such a waste and a tragedy for so many. Each and every person was planned and created by Jesus Christ; He has a plan for each and every life, and He gave His life so that things could be okay between us and Him and so He could implement His plan in our lives and take us on the journey He has mapped out for each of us.

It is so un-neccessary.

“I never thought at that time I would eventually live in a world that would find death so entertaining......”

I used to think the stories of Christians being fed to lions, and other things the Romans did for entertainment; only existed in a wicked far distant past.

No more. We are almost there.

um....did not Hollywood set the standard? We have been entertaining ourselves by watching death, violence, and destruction for almost 100 years now. Ficticious yes, but think of all of those unable to separate reality from fiction. Now some are chosing to entertaining themselves by watching in real time. Should we be surprised??? Really?

...but the purely evil propaganda that those in the state-run media push in order to try to make the murderous State appear benevolent.

Powerful statement, well said.

"He died peacefully, more or less in the arms of his wife, quietly."

What LIARS!!!!!!!

He gasps for breath. Within a minute his face turns red and he chokes as he pleads for water.

I hope this gives pause to all who would consider offing themselves, having believed the lie that they could die *peacefully*. Strange as it sounds, I'm glad it was filmed and documented so people can see the truth.

Isn’t it nightmarish how evil is so energized right now. Horrific.
