Full Title: Archbishop Chaput: Non-Catholic enthusiasm for Pope based on hope hes unconcerned with moral issues
RIO, July 24, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In an interview with John Allen of the National Catholic Reporter, Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput noted the enthusiasm for Pope Francis coming from alienated Catholics, non-Catholics and non-Christians, even more than from the faithful. Asked for an explanation, the Archbishop said it is possible that these admirers think they would prefer a church that wouldn't have strict norms and ideas about the moral life and about doctrine, and they somehow interpret the pope's openness and friendliness as being less concerned about those things.
The archbishop added: I certainly don't think that's true. I think he's a truly Catholic man in every sense of the word, but I think people are hoping that he'll be less concerned about the issues that separate us today.
Archbishop Chaput suggested however that the honeymoon was bound to wear off soon. I would think that by virtue of his office, he'll be required to make decisions that won't be pleasing to everybody, he said, noting that some right wing Catholics are already displeased with Francis.

I believe the one that is now part of EWTN and abides by Catholic Church teaching is the National Catholic Register.
I get these two CATHOLIC newspapers confused.
The Reporter are generally the bad guys and the Register are generally the good guys, but there are exceptions. One of the Register's writers committed a completely brain-dead (and fact-free) editorial on the Zimmerman case . . . and John Allen is the only writer at the Reporter who has any sense. The general feeling is that he's still there because they pay him extremely well and he can't support his family anywhere else. I think the Register should lure him away with a princely salary, post-haste.
I smell some liberal Satanic word twisting... many non Catholics, and previously disaffected Catholics favor this pope BECAUSE of the moral stands he takes. I remember he recently gave a speech saying it was all about “JESUS,JESUS,JESUS”!(he repeated the name 3 times) It was speech exhorting Catholics to remember what their faith was all about(I wish now I had book marked the article). What was not for Christians-—protestants and catholics alike to love about such a pastor!?
That's it. Make sure the red meat is dripping when you toss it to them.
I've always kind of thought that the more the press and such COMPLAINED about the Pope and his insistence on Christ's morality, the better a Pope he was.
I would be SCARED and WORRIED if the media liked him.
For later.
You’ve got it right.
